Journey To The Stars With Astropolis, Lead Adventure’s New Kickstarter
September 21, 2016 by brennon
If you're looking for a nice range of Sci-Fi characters to use in your skirmish and role-playing games then see what you think of Lead Adventures' Astropolis range which is now on Kickstarter.
The background behind this range is that Lead Adventure wanted to put together a range of civilians and non-combatants that you could use to build up a wonderfully rich Sci-Fi world. I think they've succeeded.
The idea is that the Human Race fled from an Alien invasion on massive ships which were effectively floating cities. Packed to bursting with people Astropolis is one such ship which was filled with all manner of people from society.
Now the ship floats through space looking for dockyards to repair and take on supplies while within its bowels the crew works tirelessly to keep it all ticking over.
Lead Adventure has taken their trademark style of miniature, which has this cartoony nature to it, to space and given us an amazing looking collection of characters who already are coming to life, even at this early stage.
The actual range of figures is quite vast but I've picked out some of my favourites here. They have even included a few Aliens into the mix too, the Krogloggs.
One thing I love about this range is that it leaves more questions than answers on the table. What is life really like onboard Astropolis and where are all the soldiers?
Igor, the sculptor behind this range, specifically wanted to stay away from big super-human warriors and instead look at what regular humans would be like in the future.
What do you think?

It’s not Lead Adventure without a sow. I love this stuff, this is what minis are all about for me.
And… backed. For two minis. Pray i don’t alter the deal any further.
What a great range. Backed!
the figures look good.
These look nice. Never heard of this company before. I shall certainly investigate. (It is nice to see the project is already funded too)
Fantastic minis!
It has a charming old school feel that I like.
good to see someone doing this kind of thing
