Get High Tech Rolling With The Bots Battleground Boogie Dice
October 1, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
While perusing Kickstarter, I stumbled on a really clever novelty for gaming - Boogie Dice! The Bots Battleground - Boogie Dice Kickstarter brings technology to dice by introducing a programming option to add colour, lights, sound and motion to your dice.
Using an app on your phone or tablet, you can set your dice to react in various ways, including making them roll themselves! With a clap or snap of your fingers, you can trigger the dice to activate.
They've taken it one step further and have even created a game the features an alternate version of the Boogie Dice, Bots Battleground. The dice determine which of your Bots face off in the arena and each has special abilities to deploy to give them a leg up against the rest.
The trick is knowing when to use your boosts to maximize their effects.
Each of the Boogie Dice have a vibration motor, a tiny microphone, a microprocessor, a rechargeable battery and three LED lights. When the microphone detects a short and loud sound, such as a hand clap or a finger snap, the motor starts rotating, causing the dice bounce and roll.
The dice come with a charging station to keep your Boogie Dice ready to go.
Why play with regular dice when you can play with Boogie Dice?
Will you be bringing technology to your rolls?

this looks like witchcraft … but I like it 😛
Lol, now @warzan can have REAL charged dice…
Very tempted! A game of battling robots with self-rolling dice; what a nice concept!
Programming your dice through the App can make for really interesting game mechanics. And they say more games will be coming soon using this technology.
Interesting. 🙂
Hi all, Nimrod back, creator of Boogie Dice, if you have any questions feel free.
Thanks!
My first thought was “Cool! I want some!”. My second thought was my jackass gaming friends will keep snapping their fingers to ruin any good rolls I get…
I think this project has some cool ideas but the game designer behind it is Saar Shai and his last KS ‘King Down’ did not get a smooth reception when we finally got our hands on it. Loads of issues with components and he’s already had to release a Rulebook 2.0 to deal with massive problems in the launch version.
I’m not claiming this will go the same way but I’ll be waiting for the retail version after the kinks have been ironed out.
