Dragon's Forge Miniatures are aiming to bring all of those elements together with a new app called The Forge. This will allow you to customise said kits, ten of which will be available from The Forge at launch. The campaign offers backers access to those kits plus more unlocked through stretch goals. You'll also get plenty of "Ingots" to spend on STLs and high-quality 3D Prints.

The core ten kits will feature Fantasy classic options like Sorcerers, Dwarves, Halflings, Dragonfolk and more. Each of them has hundreds of customisation options allowing you to make some pretty unique-looking heroes. They have all come to life thanks to the work of concept artists and sculptors who have tailored each collection of "bits" to suit.

It was pretty neat seeing one of the miniatures at the end of its journey with this miniature painted by Matt Parkes.

Pledge levels as part of the campaign will give you better value for money than jumping in when The Forge goes live proper later on down the line. You'll also be able to get more Ingots to use for customisation, printing and more and plenty of those Stretch Goal options too. There are also going to be limited edition miniatures that are exclusive to this Kickstarter.

It's always neat to have more options for making custom figures. I certainly like the idea that Dragon's Forge is playing around with here, offering up custom elements whilst also retaining the look and feel of a cohesive "character" sculpt.

Watch out for the Kickstarter launching on 30th September. It will be intriguing to see how this all works and what else the project has to offer.

Are you intrigued?
