Create Cool Battle Reports With MyMiniReport Kickstarter
March 19, 2019 by brennon
Gos Corp/MyMiniReport is on Kickstarter right now for a different kind of wargaming project. Their aim is to bring this battle report builder app to life so you can quickly build up a record of your awesome games with friends.
The app is being designed for iOS and Android devices and will allow you to take pictures and upload them alongside text, indicators and more to help create dynamic looking snapshots of the battlefield.
The team behind the game are working on a lot of different 'stickers' which you can use to help signify what's happening in different battles, covering a lot of the big ones that many bring to the tabletop nowadays as well as some which might be a little more out there.
This app seems pretty simple and easy to play around with and some of the examples are already looking good with their comic book style.
One of the key things is that they have also made it so that the app can create larger battle reports which are more than a single 'page' as it were, allowing you to potentially do one for each turn of your game if you so desired.
The team behind this also worked on the successful app, Kill Team Manager, so they do have some experience in this market. I think this could be a lot of fun to play around with!
What do you think?

Not my cup of tea for the following reasons: my phone already takes pictures (for free) and the end result is something that can easily been done through Paint (included with Windows 7) or any other free picture editing tool (including App on iOS and Android). I doubt that they will use dedicated voice recognition software but will rely on services like google which leads to granting apps rights. If they do it well and it works flawless someone will have fun with it. But 15USD for a “to be developed” app that I can easily live without (GIMP FTW!)… Read more »
Hi Sundancer. You are right you can have the same results with Gimp. Big difference is : few hours of work.
What we propose is a dedicated mobile app you can use to create awesome report while playing, without disturbing the game. When you finish your game, your report is already ready to go.
You create a pane of your report in seconds, using your camera and voice recognition (or typing it if you do not want to grant rights).
We also provide all the necessary layouts, fonts, health/poison marker, score keeper, turn keeper.
And all of this directly on your phone.
for me, 15$ is worth it. If it doesn’t work, it’s not like i’m out a fortune. That’s 1 games workshop figure or battlefront Flames of war Tank for me so i’m in.
Making a simple battlereport “comic style” doesn’t take hours. Both, a programm like GIMP or your app, require practice at first and both have their use-case. My, personally, like editing pictures on a big screen much more. A phone screen is only so big.
Plus, when I’m playing taking pictures is already enough of a distraction. I’d rather not add “making a battrep” to that… my opponents could get bored 😉
But (as said before) good luck to you and your app.
That seems actually useful for those of us that tend to have avoided making batreps because of pure laziness.
And this is why i am a backstager, letting me know of cool things like this.
Well bone OTT
Folks, it’s worth the cost to stay informed of all cool things coming out without having to scour kickstarter or the internet and you support a great bunch of guys.
I like the idea of a program that can make those easily, but it’s only on mobile. When I make pictures of my battles I use my separate camera, it has more features, better zoom, image stabilization and so on and no option to connect to my phone or tablet. This would work a lot better for me if I could do this afterwards on my PC in a couple of minutes, I’ll never prefer the use of a touchscreen over a mouse and keyboard.
mouse and keyboard! PCMR! 😉 #scnr
Could be an intesting addition for club’s.
I’ll be happy to buy this from the App Store when it comes available.
Why that “Compatibility”?
Can’t I use it to make a bolt action batrep???
Compatibility means that we provide dedicated content for this game, like font, status marker, logo, banner, images,… If it is not in the list, we will add it as soon as it is requested by users. And you still have all the generic materials. Dedicated content is an additional package on top of generic content. (When i say additional it does not mean there is additional cost, everything is included, no in-app buy on anything like that)
