The Gladiators Begin Training For Tomahawk’s Jugula
February 11, 2014 by brennon
Studio Tomahawk's Jugula is on the way and you can't have a game without miniatures. With that in mind Gripping Beast showed off some of the Gladiator kits that will be coming out for the game. See what you think of this arena-bound line-up...
The details that we know so far are that the miniatures are 35mm in scale and will come as a multi-part metal kit. This means you'll be able to customise each of the Gladiators with a variety of different weapons and looks for the arena.
These are all looking very cool indeed and I like that they've made it so you can tweak the weapons to fit your desired fighting style. Jugula should be well up there on the 'one to watch' scale.
You can also see another glimpse at the rules over on the blog linked above.
Do you like these Gladiators?

They will also be from different time periods throughout Roman history with the emphasis on fun in the game rather than historical accuracy.
Incidentally the small Retiarius in the last pic is a 28mm for size comparison.
Old school sculpts. They could and should be better, especially at 35mm.
Very old school, but the game sound like something that need to be checked out – and with a number of Arena Rex coming my way ….
Yes for 35mm figures they are a bit disappointing but they do look like good sturdy gaming pieces and I’m sure with a few wins under my belt I’ll get quite fond of some of them.
I’m…a little disappointed to tell you the truth. Maybe I’m just spoiled but these models don’t really impress me. Especially since they are 35mm…
Also not a fan of using metal for models with customization in mind. In this regard plastic and resin are better choices IMHO. Easier to cut and put togethe, easier to convert…metal is just a chore in comparison.
If the rules are solid I can see myself still playing the game…but using different models.
No don’t be sorry they really are not that great. When its 35mm you better be spoiled as it gives so much detail.
