Infinity Sneak Peek – Ariadna Desperadoes
January 14, 2016 by dignity
Here we have a rather extraordinary looking pair of models for Infinity. Ariadna will be getting two bikers and two bikes which make up the Desperadoes!
"Carrying close quarters combat weapons and riding roaring motorbikes, these Antipode hunters are the new gunslingers of the USAriadnan border. A real danger for their enemies… and for the rest of the society too."
What do you think of this pair? I think they are looking like an awesome group of rebels that require some incredible metal music when they hit the tabletop. What music track do you reckon they listen to?
Drop your thoughts below...
can we see stats for them too?
do we need these?
Infnity is sold to us as a game of special ops and covert actions , this is rapidly putting me off a more and more convulted system.
great models , but do they fit?
Battles in Infinity are supposed to be covered up as gang violence etc, it’s a lot easier to blame a few hairy dudes on bikes on “gangs” than it is to convince people the 12 foot robot with a jetpack is Mall Security…
Variety is the spice of life… and scenarios.
I don’t get your point, infinity had bikes since the very beginning. And Ariadna was always the low tech, dirty looking faction. In my opinion these model fit the faction perfectly.
Of course we need this. This is US-Ariadna, its fits exact in their lore and the minis are great !
If you find yourself asking “do I need The Man With No Name and Easy Rider battling Space Ninja’s, Greek Hero Androids and Werewolves?” and thinking “No, this is silly” then you might be taking Infinity a little too seriously. The rules aren’t out yet to the best of my knowledge, although you’re probably looking at similar points / profiles to Kum Riders, albeit with slightly different special rules. They certainly fit with the aesthetic of USAriadna. I don’t see why these models would put someone off Infinity tbh although if you have a problem with bikes, then USAriadna probably… Read more »
These guys are the irregular and impetuous versions of the Maverick Bikers, they’ll have similar stats and a higher availability in the USAriadna Sectorial.
With these guys and the Mavericks you could in theory make a force nearly entirely out of bike troops.
These look awesome and fit with the rugged, frontier theme that is USAriadna. Bikes are the futuristic frontiers mans horse. Bikes don’t get spooked when an antipode jumps out of the bush to attack.
I play Kazak Ariadna but I might invest in a few of these. Especially with the RPG out in the near future.
Only criticism is they don’t seem to have dismounted versions, most likely profile looking similar in points costs to Kum Bikers, but with heavy pistols and maybe a point of armour more in place of dogged and possibly specialist options.
Highway to Hell, of course.
Or maybe, Born to Be Wild.
I see synthetik’s point about the minis. Infinity was suppose to be a game of super dirty wet works black ops revolving around small elite teams of soldiers. TAGs and things like them where much fewer and far between when the game started out. That being said though, this game has grown and evolved, and has always had crazy things like werewolves and unibike riders. Its all part of the fun. I personally enjoy these models for the spice they bring. on that note though, I predict in about 3 or 5 years, infinity will cease to be a tight-nit… Read more »
If you said to me that you could see an Infinity supplement that allowed for bigger forces (although at 300 points, you can get some pretty big forces already), then I might believe you, because I’m sure there are people out there who have large amounts of a faction purely because they like collecting / painting the models. But N3 Infinity ceasing to exist? It would require something really wacky going on there. Rules being completely redone, model production, hiring of a heck of more staff, etc… I can’t see such a thing happening within 5 years. Anyway, bikes existed… Read more »
I do not think that will happen. Have met the CB guys (some of them multiple times) and mass combat does not interest any of them or fit in with their intentions for the range. They plan to stay in metal indefinitely for one. And they are awear of the limitations of a squad based game at playing in the time of terrain heavy and interactive way. Link teams are the closest thing to squads you will see. And they have also said that bikes and TAGs are going to be the only vehicles in the game with maybe some… Read more »
Sons of Infinity!
it’s funny to see people slam these but “ooh and ahhh” the gates of Antares Jetbikes…
Infinity sculpts are hype-rdetailed and full of character…Antares look like something from 10 years ago…stiff and chunky…and generic.
I reckon a dune buggy or some sort of four wheel drive, all terrain, vehicle would have suited these a bit more given the look and background not to mention differentiated them from the other bike minis available from Corvus Belli already.
Heck, why not some sort of scrambler motorcycle?
Surely ‘Bad to the Bone’ – I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle
I think the spec ops thing is more a PanO/YuJing/Aleph and maybe Nomads thing.
Ariadna is mostly defending their planet and fighting off Antipodes.
Bikers on border patrol fits perfectly with their fluff.
I need to have those bikers …
They make me shiver…
Like a true natures child… we were born, born to be wiiiiiiiiiild……
*Couldn’t help myself.
