Operation Flamestrike: The Campaign Ends
May 20, 2016 by warzan
That's it folks, it's been an amazing journey with all of you and we're as sad to see it end as much as you are. Operation Flamestrike is over!
I'll be talking about some record breaking statistics and what a ride it's been over the past few months.
If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the campaign, please post them below. In the meantime, stay tuned for more insights on what took place on Flamia Island.
Have you enjoyed Operation Flamestrike?
Better late than never. 🙂 Hope the next one will be better planned.
Well the next one hopefully wont be a beta so we can hope that it should go according to plan 🙂
Still, it was awesome though, right?
Yes, and if that was the beta we look forward to when it is out of beta
Absolutely.
For a moment there, I thought @warzan was about to give us the weather report for Flamia Island. Scorchio!
Replace the TV with a green screen and give us updates on the map like you’re doing a weather forecast 🙂
I need that little black sparkly dress though!
Warren the Weather Girl . . . God help us. “Cloudy with a chance of horror.”
If Infinity wasn’t so high-tech, I’d suggest a map easel with pointer while General Warzan gives us the debrief. 😀
Please don’t mention @warzan and “debrief” in the same sentence, the potential for it to go horrendously wrong if far to great…
We could always send the “thong panties” that came in the World War 2.5 box … 😐
Aren’t you the almighty Warzan… Barbarian Lord of the Leeroy Jenkins tribe. Only a sparkly loin cloth is applicable fashion for such a lord!
That would be me 😉
You may call me … His Royal flappyness 😉
My answer is… well…No.
The main problem is that it didn’t felt like a campaign at all just a series of unlinked missions. It was interesting to see some global data tho!^^
YES i think that’s the point! it’s interesting to see the data, analizing the meta, looking at the troops…and i’d appreciate it more without the label “campaign”
There are many types of campaign this is just one type 🙂
I didn’t get to compete in this one, haven’t even had time to paint anything let alone play a game, but I have managed to watch a few of the videos when I’ve been on the throne.
Its really impressive as a concept, most of the people taking part seem to have given positive responses and the video reports were really well done.
Top marks for the campaign system from me!
Wow that is one shiny ring there Warren, congrats. Justin would have put a little sparkle in the video every time it flashes before the camera.
Should. Justin should.
Give it time lol
One episode of hobby lab should be enough to ruin it 😉
Truly amazing, i’ll be looking more into it since i didn’t participate but i would love to if the next one is for Warmahordes, Deadzone, Kings of War or Relic Knights.
Maybe Dreadball would be interesting, we could each of us represent a corporation and our teams register for one or the other, if we do well we contribute to the overall revenue increase of that company, otherwise the reduce cost by removing us from the company ( that might include body recycling… ouch ).
We have probably 3 more planned so far for this year
In fact we announce one tomorrow morning 🙂
**queue ominous music . . .
Dun-dun-DAAAAAAH!
Absolutely brilliant work, lads. A real achievement.
I had a blast. Wrote lots of batreps. Had some great chats in the forums (everyone was in character, it was ace). The camaraderie and trash-talking on social media was a lot of fun.
Interested to see how this manifests itself in the fluff, and what CB does with the results.
Gamers always complain that websites and game companies don’t run big campaigns like this… so when they do, we need to appreciate it. BoW put a lot of work into this, and set the bar high for future campaigns.
Guys, the Nomad Nation salutes you!
Great work, Beasts! I loved how well organized and user friendly the website was. In a game that puts technology at the forefront, it’s fitting to have a slick site.
Love the mission choices, too.
Thanks for the hard work and love of the game that you put into this.
Was a great campaing i have to thank by me (as father knight Luisjoey) and my Gaming community here in Venezuela @CalabozoCriollo #Wedoplay!
hope it repeats sooner than later! maybe this time we give some DEUS VULT over ariadna´s DAWN 😀
DEUS VULT! 😀
I really liked seeing all the data and the factions that popped up and got really into the forums.
Yep, I agree that this was an awesome campaign.
The one thing I’d ask for would be to have more room at the top in terms of ranks to earn and higher achievements. Adding another 2-3 above each of the existing achievements with similar scaling would be good.
Otherwise better communication through a single channel (the campaign front page) and things would be awesome!
For a Beta I thought things went really well, and I am already looking forward to playing in the next one in 2017!
What a load of data that must be 😀
Is it possible to estimate casualties in model counts ?
And what about best / worst vehicle or weapon ?
It makes me wonder if a WW2/modern game would generate losses that match real world events …
Was the most played map/mission the most fun to play and/or easiest to setup ?
And what about the least played map/mission ?
It was a great Infinity Campaign and I hope that another one will start soon !
Thank you Beasts of War.
This campaign inspired miniatures painting and terrain building, encouraged my son to play out battles with me and conjured a short story cut across 4 battle reports that I wrote to support narrative around the battle results. (Sadly didn’t get around to having the last battle that could have helped complete the story)
Long may the campaigns continue and you continue to innovate and find us gamers more excuses to play, create and enjoy our hobby.
Thank you for the campaign, it was the most fun I had in wargamming in a long time
Well done to the website guys, did outstanding for live site that evolved!
Was so bummed to learn of this right around the time that I was just ordering up my first Infinity models! Great job though. Have loved keeping up with the info thus far and look forward to the videos to come. Next time, I’m joining the fight!
Yeah I was in pretty much the same boat. Just getting into it at the time the campaign started. Still haven’t got Enough to painted up for a game! Maybe next time eh 🙂
