Objective Infinity: Aggressive Hacking Tactics
September 21, 2016 by dignity
One of the techniques to learn when playing games of Infinity is how to use Aggressive Hacking and utilise it on the tabletop.
With a plethora of different hackers out there and many ways to use their special skill sets, you've got to know what's best for the job at hand.

How do you employ your Hackers on the tabletop?
in the words of a young Anakin Skywalker ” yippee”.
Justin do you have a spare Kilian you would be willing to sell me ?
Steady on, what nefarious purpose do you want me for?
does that mean given the right nefarious purpose you would be interested ?
I thought you couldn’t try to discover again with the same model after a failed detect.
You’re right. It is in fact listed as a rule under the Impersonation rule although to be fair it seems to be a very common mistake that seems to be made by very experienced players.
Really didn’t know the infinite range thing!!!! You sure Killian?
If you are within hacking range of an enemy repeater you can hack any enemy hacker.
DeFersan could have AROed the killer hacker and gotten a normal roll, since she was in his hacking range.
I’ll start of and say that if anyone feels intimidated by hacking in Infinity they should google it Captain Spud N3 hacking helper as it simplifies things enormously rather than looking at lists.
So because of that helper I can ask shouldn’t the Interventor normally have to pass a Willpower test to enter the impersonation state 1 ( I guess the auto pass was just to speed things up?).
Also the Interventor has an extra killer hacking programme to use against other hackers which I’ll assume is better than skull buster?
I have a question. If you roll a crit when using a programme with a killer hacker through an enemy repeater does the repeater also die due to the crit roll kill through repeaters for hacking?
Nope the repeater is completely unaffected unless it is the target of the hacking.
Because that is awesome 🙂
Good effort, but as stated, there seems to be a few mistakes here. 1) Must pass WIP to use Cybermask 2) Can only fail 1 discover roll 3) The minesweeper should have been able to ARO (unless that crubling wall is considered to block LoF). Even then, it looks like it would have LoF to the final position allowing it to dodge and try to get out of hacking range…. 4) The Fusilier on the far side looks like he should have an ARO. 5) All hackers should have been able to ARO. 6) Why on earth should the Kamau… Read more »
The answer to some of these questions is that we want to show off some of the tactics that can be used, we’re not necessarily going to play all the ARO’s that would occur as we’ve got to get all the content covered in a limited video.
