April 22, 2016 by brennon
If you were looking for something big and deadly to smash its way into the world of Infinity and deliver a killing blow then how about the massive Maghariba Guard for the Haqqislam in Infinity? This is a monstrous kit, the biggest they've ever made, and it looks terrifying...
Above you can see the teaser video for this beast of a creation. It comes packed with weapons and will surely be a devastating addition to your arsenal.
Look out for a shiny look at this on Monday as well as a whole lot of other releases from the guys at Corvus Belli.
What do you make of this monster?

*Ahem*
Excuse me.
Freaking wow awesome amazing! And I don’t play Haqqislam… Love this to bits!
Pretty interested to see how this model all comes together; it’s got to be all metal right? With that massive tail, is it going to be top heavy?
Probably sounds like I’m complaining, but I think the model itself looks awesome.
The tail is hanging forward over the body and the head looks bigger and heavier than the tail, so I think you’re okay.
The challenge with the old Maghariba was that the legs and the body were a three-way join. It was a bit tricky to put them all together with just two hands. It appears that in this case each leg attaches seperately. Now the challenge might be to fit them all to stand flat on the base, unless CB has been so smart to include square plugs in the joins.
In fairness to CB, their latest models have generally been an order of magnitude easier to put together than some of their earlier stuff. I wouldn’t expect this new version to be as fiddly.
I already have the old one so I can’t really find an excuse to go for the newer model, apart from it being awesome, especially with that wonderful paint job.
We knew it was coming, just didn’t expect it to be this cool.
Mind = Blown.
I was wondering why everyone seemed like they haven’t seen it before, then I remembered I saw it at AdeptiCon. Do CB ever do anything resin? This mini would seem like a good place to start if they don’t.
I think CB’s currently policy is that everything should be metal despite as you say this model would have been a good starting point to start working with resin.
If the Maghariba had been resin, then I strongly suspect their forums would have melted down (and it’s hardly the happiest of places anyway).
Oh? I thought Infinity gamers were quite sensible. Frankly their spoiled with the models they have. The only thing putting me off is… it’s metal. All I remember of my early years of gaming is putting together metal models and then seeing them fall apart as soon as you looked at them.
gotta agree, thats the only thing that hasnt got me started seriously with infinity .. hope they move away from it at some point.
Don’t be afraid guys. I have an army worth of Infinity models and the only one causing some trouble is the classic Janissary with rifle and sword. And that’s because he’s stretching that gun arm out the furthest it could go. Very easy to knock against things and apply to much force to the shoulder join.
Other than that all models are still in one piece, even the somewhat fragile looking troops like the droptroopers.
They’re pretty keen on keeping as much manufacturing in house or local as possible, Carlos mentioned looking at resin IIRC but they prefer keeping their manufacturing and QC in house.
Even their books are printed locally in Spain rather than farming it off to China which I find very commendable.
They could do resin in-house. It’s no more difficult than doing metal casting in-house.
Never had a problem with metal, nor have any infinity players I have encountered over the years. Before i started pinning, a model would lose an arm about once every 3-5 months because i droped it down some model stairs or something. After pinning it never happens. Paint does not come off either as i use a matt varnish at the end of painting. Metal is a great material for game peices in my opinion as once it is pinned it is really solid and can servive a lot of punishment. Resin on the other hand has a tendency to… Read more »
Resin is very well suited to provided the bulk of a very large model. It can be cast in one or two large pieces which is very durable and lightweight. Then the smaller pieces that attach to it can be cast in metal. For this type of model it’s much better than casting it all in metal.
It might be that the people they have doing the casting can’t do resin (or don’t have the skill set for it – they are still a small company)
Wow
My words (well, word) exactly.
Wow!
Oh goodness me, that’s fantastic..
I have the older version from the first Infinity Week on BoW. Going to pick up the new one because it looks amazing too. From what CB has said the main body cavity is hollow to reduce metal and weight.
I must be in a minority, while it looks cool I think the original was more stylish and had a certain charm
Not sure why you’d be downvoted for expressing a purely personal opinion on aesthetics…
I don’t closely follow infinity so I can’t say whether or not I agree with you, but can’t see any harm in what you said!
Some people have issues with differing opinions I guess, there was a thread somewhere a while back about them under valuing that persons opinion. Which I find sad as everyone should value their own opinion, and celebrate the differences.
I am totally with you on this one.
Well, that thing is all kinds of awesome. It is like a scarier, more heavily armed Tachcoma from Ghost in the Shell.
It does look a lot like it doesn’t it, looks fantastic !
If there was one Infinity model that could get me into the game, it would be this one. It looks great!
thats how you sell minis right there, awesome presentation of an awesome mini
Get the pin vises ready lads, she’s gonna need some supports to take ‘er hits!
Not sure that thing looks very practical, but my it looks cool!
