Luxumbra’s Kickstarter Begins Tomorrow!
February 13, 2017 by brennon
Luxumbra's Kickstarter, which is focused on bringing you a series of awesome busts and larger scale models, is going to be launching tomorrow (February 14th). A day of love to show some to your hobby!
The Kickstarter is going to be focused towards four fantastically sculpted busts for hobbyists and collectors to paint up from the Infinity background. Above we have Acherontia but you can also get Daturazi...
...as well as Tarik Mansuri and Tiger Soldier.
Each of the busts has been lovingly designed so that it gives you plenty of options for painting. You could approach them with airbrush or traditional brushes. You also have plenty of different surfaces to work on including armour, skin, cloth and more. It could give you quite the project!
You'll be able to choose from options which include one Bust, the main 75mm Model (which we'll look at in a second), a Bust Pack or even a Valentines Bundle which gives you everything at a special offer price.
75mm O-Yoroi Pilot!
Matching the Busts and giving you something even more impressive to paint we will also get to see a fantastic large scale model from the Infinity range, the O-Yoroi Pilot.
Corvus Belli will also be providing a 32mm version of the model as an unlockable asset during the Kickstarter campaign.
So, if any of these options appeal to you we recommend you keep an eye on Kickstarter tomorrow and dive in!
Will you be getting involved with this one?

I want the Morat bust
Amazing stuff, I’m shamelessly jealous of their top notch sculpting skills!
I wasn’t going to get into this, then they went and did O-Yoroi pilot. I shall holiday at home this year.
It will be interesting to see how a non-gaming item (I know it is based in Infinity but these busts are essentially for display only) kickstarter goes. There are some big names involved here but what is the market like for pure display miniatures?? Genuinely curious, there is no criticism or negativity intended to be attached to my statements. Good looking product , should be interesting

“There are some big names involved here but what is the market like for pure display miniatures??”
I’m wondering that myself. Personally, I can’t see much value in those for the gamer. And for the painter…? Ehh… I suspect they’re, at the same time, to generic sci-fi and too specifically Infinity to really attract attention.
Of course… No-one’s saying that you can’t be both a gamer and a painter. And I suspect that’s the marked they’re aiming for.
Yeah I know … it is just that I have never seen a kickstarter purely for painters before (their have probably been some) … I am really curious to see how it goes
Judging by the first few hours, pretty good… 🙂
I think a lot of people like Infinity because of the nature of the miniatures. In many respects it’s a boutique product and there’s lots of people buy the miniatures for the sheer beauty of them. There is quite a big market for 1/10 busts, and models, some of which are Fantasy, some of which are military but the only other company I am aware of currently offering something like this, sci fi, is Spartan Games. The only reason I probably won’t back this is because at the moment I simply can’t afford to. But having painted a 1/10 a… Read more »
They could have gone for far more interesting designs for those busts, if you ask me. They’re well made for sure, but nothing spectacular.
The 75 mm. figure is much more interesting then.
But honestly… Might just be me… But I’m getting rather fed up with them bundling exclusive models with other products. It’s a bad habit that too many companies have gotten into lately.
EBay is the place to go with your unwanted figures.
they do look good.
Absolutely no interest in the busts but the 2 pilot figures have me intrigued.
Hope they have more than those 4 busts or I have to wonder why they went to kickstarter for this.
There’s a different market here – not your usual gamer audience.
many of us will have checked-out Figone’s stand at Salute etc. for a glmpse at the sort of thing that’s possible with these scale minis.
So the KS has started (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/783398011/luxumbra-infinity-collectors) and is already funded. A single bust costs 40$, the base is when unlocked 12$ for one and 40$ for 4, the big O-Yoroi pilot is 45$ and the small one when unlocked 11$, sadly there is no Pledge Level bust + base or bust + big/small O-Yoroi pilot only all 4 busts and all 4 busts + big O-Yoroi, shipping is 10-20$ to Europe. Interestingly nothing is marked as KS only.
And it is funded!
Fluffing heck did anyone see those top tier pledge levels ?
anyone want one of those painted by the man himself ?
I don’t know if it is worth the 700$ they’re asking, but damn … one has to wonder what those are worth in a few years.
There’s even a chance to spend 16 hours with Angel Giraldez …
If you’re crazy/rich enough to spend 3000$.
I’m not crazy enough to spend silly money, but the figures looked so tempting I couldn’t resist.
*damn* you Beasts of War …
A Harder&Steenbeck Ultra airbrush + paint set add-on is unlocked as an optional 200$ add-on.
It does look expensive (the airbrush on its own is 70 Euro locally), but it may be tempting if you’re looking for one.
Well that answered my question over 2 and half times funded in several hours …… evidently stuff just for painters will sell if it is of high enough quality. Well done Luxumbra
look good, but…
