Infinity Sneak Peek: Scylla & Drakios – Steel Phalanx NCOs!
May 27, 2015 by dignity
We've got another fantastic and exclusive sneak peek for you today for Infinity! You might have seen the concept artwork for the new additions to ALEPH, Scylla & Drakios but we've been sent over some amazing images of the models themselves!
Brutality & Beauty
The two work in perfect tandem alongside their two Devabots that are also part of this little outing...
"Scylla and Drakios are seasoned NCOs of the Argyraspides; the Double-A unit of the Steel Phalanx. Accompanied by their Devabots, Ioke and Charybdis, the flamboyant warrior and the lethal Hacker are a deadly threat to any adversary."
So, not only do we have Drakios wielding a rather dangerous looking flamethrower attached to his combi-rifle but also Scylla getting up close with her boarding shotgun and blasting people away while she does a bit of hacking.
I think both miniatures look fantastic and look as if they belong together on the tabletop with their similar poses. Scylla herself is in the middle of doing a bit of hacking!
The Devabots too look great and are armed with flamethrowers too. Effectively you're not going to get too close to this team when you're fighting them.
What do you think of this pairing?

I really like the Scylla model even though there is something about it that feels like it didn’t translate too well from the concept art. I’d have to file down those glasses though – they seem too big and actually look like the kind of “mask” a DC character would wear to conceal their identity!
Dame Edna Everage ?
I like the look of the models especially the Devabots, I think the poses of Drakios and Scylla could have been better especially as Infinity normally produce models with purposeful dynamic poses. These two seem a little off especially Scylla.
Not a fan of the poses either. And the glasses on Scylla look weird, not sure if it’s the sculpt, the painting or both
imho the glasses are way to big and leaning toward a superhero’s mask….
paint them glasses blue ….
Love a red head, nice mini.
Agree with you guys about the glasses, it’s cool that they considered adding them but it’s just not worked on the model. Plus where is she keeping her shotgun?
Both poses make them look off balance as well.
I guess the same place Meryl hides her Desert Eagle?
WRT where Scylla keeps the shotgun, I believe that is the case for a lot of models that just show a CCW. Scylla looks odd. Can a spine bend that way? Are her legs too high? I’m not a fan of the pose truth be told. Draikos, again the pose. I’m guessing the hand hanging in the air like it is, is meant to be dynamic, in that it is reaching down to get more ammo? It looks a bit silly though. Is it just me, or does the top half of this model, look as though it shouldn’t belong… Read more »
Well, maybe THAT’s where Scylla is hiding her Shotgun? 😀
Is it me or is something ‘off’ about Drakios’ left thigh/crotch area? Doesn’t look right from the video or pictures.
I agree about the glasses as well, they haven’t translated well to a metal miniature. I think if this was done in resin, it would look too bad, like the glasses on some of the Kingdom Death models. One option other than filing them off would be to fill them, round off the edges and treat them as some sort of mirrored shades or visor.
He needs a cold shower apperently.
The bots look the same as before so I wouldn´t expect easier construction. I like them but the criticism above has merit.
Well drakios is certainly well… Uhm “equipped”.
Not a fan of either figure. Their poses are just odd.
I don’t know… there’s something odd about the bulge. I think he stuffs his pants…
Nah… Aleph is just making sure that its Lhosts are appropriately enhanced!
Heh… Indeed, what good would a made-to-order body be if it weren’t, right ?
I’m torn, I like the Drakios (although his “combi-rifle” seems to be a little on show) but the Scylla is just weird looking.
I don’t play Aleph so I guess I can give this a miss.
I have to agree with comments here. Generally a fan of Aleph minis and was looking forward to Scylla but there is something not right with the minis here. Will definitely pass on those.
Well, at least Drakios seems happy enough 😛
It seems like back at Steel Phalanx HQ, Scylia and Drakios are having a dance party. Drakois is trying to be Michael Jackson, doing a leg drag to pop up while doing woop fist pump with his rifle saying, “ALEPH Hell Yeah!”.
Then we have Scylia who broke out in song singing, “I’m a little teapopt”.
I’m a little teapot, short & stout
Here is my handle (sticks out hip)
Here is my spout (points sword outward),
When I get all steamed up,
I just shout,
Tip me over and pour me out
Looking good.
I feel most criticism about the glasses comes from the extreme closeup the model is seen, they look really good on the picture taken from a normal distance.
Love the sculpts but the poses are terrible. 🙁
Methinks Drakios took ‘commando’ literally
I wonder if the pose on Scylla would make more sense if seen from a different angle.
Well, I’ve got to admit that, contrary to indications from the concept art, there is in fact a parity of depiction between the models of Drakios and Scylla afterall, even if it is unintentional. Scylla may be wearing a crop top that is ludicrously inappropriate for any combat situation, but you can’t really complain about that without acknowledging that Drakios… well, I think the image speaks for itself really. I mean, doesn’t Aleph’s armour budget stretch to some kind of cod peice? Did they blow all their cash on fancy tech, and then had to complete their combat suiting with… Read more »
While I’m a huge fan of nearly every Infinity model that CB has released, Scylla and Drakios are two of the few I don’t like. All my reasons have already been stated by others.
I suppose if I want to use them in a list I can easily use my Devas + Devabots to proxy.
I don’t mind them. I will be getting these.
Perhaps Drakios was based off a real CB guy and he kept on saying “More bulge” when presented the design for approval.
