Infinity 3rd Edition Pre-Orders Begin Next Week!
October 10, 2014 by brennon
Corvus Belli have released information of their pre-orders of the 3rd Edition of Infinity! If you order the book from between October 13th and November 13th you'll get the Authorised Bounty Hunter miniature too!
A very awesome looking miniature for a very snazzy looking book. Both the rulebook and background book are in full colour and are soft covers packed within a nice slipcase. It should finally hit tabletops around December 8th this year.
Of course watch out from Monday as we'll be giving you the full run down on everything Infinity 3rd Edition!
Will you be pre-ordering?
I really do like that Bounty Hunter
Corvus Belli’s pre-orders are great. Although it has to be said I’m ‘still’ waiting for my Operation Ice Storm July pre-order to be shipped from Wayland. I think they somewhat underestimated the volume of interest.
Luckliy my missus ordered mine driect from Corvus in August and it’s here. Yay.
The price certainly went up from 2nd edition.
And I prefer my rulebooks in hardcover like they used to be so I’m hoping for that to happen further down the road.
Its two books, one for fluff and one for rules and they come in a hard slip case. The combined page count is close to 500 pages full colour and mostly new artwork and fluff. I think your getting a good deal on this especially if you do the pre-order and get the new Bounty Hunter mini.
Might be so but I was never a big Infinity fluff fan and the old hardcover books are still going strong after all the abuse we had with them. Don’t now what to expect front he soft one so I’ll probably wait and see how they handle. The page count in itself doesn’t justify the price if the cogent isn’t of adequate quality and satisfaction. As for the bounty hunter – I have no use for him so I’m in no hurry to order.
My version of their artbook, have held up pretty well (a small scratch or two on the cover) despite being the most handled book of the bunch.
You have to remember that they still offer the rules for free download, so if you don’t want fluff, there’s not really that many reasons to buy this pack.
If you absolutely want a physical copy, and don’t want to print everything out, you can probably find the rulebook on E-bay after release, since there’s a lot of people who prefer having everything on a tablet
Will there be a cheaper rules only version? Or maybe a pdf? Nice as that figure is I can’t afford that kind of money.
A look at the official Infinity forums suggests that you’ll still be able to download the rules and use the army builder for free.
I am going to buy this as soon as the pre-order option shows at the shop.
60 euro is a bit too rich for my taste. I’ll wait for the PDF (esp. as the model isn’t exactly stellar).
Considering I’m still waiting on my Operation:Icestorm pre-ordered 28 July via Wayland, am I allowed to feel a bit underwhelmed at this announcement?
I mean… it looks very pretty and all that but customer experience is so far lacking for this customer attempting to get into their game!
I think Infinity is suffering from a similar problem that X-Wing experienced when it launched. Put simply, they were not optimistic enough with predicted sales volumes. I’ve read that Operation Ice Storm sold something like 5 times the amount they were predicting over that time period, and it looks like Wayland Games specifically took the hit with stock (if you ordered from anywhere else you probably already have the box set).
Hopefully, like FFG did with X-wing, they will increase production to meet demand and this kind of delay will be a blip rather than the norm.
You ordered through Wayland Games, nearly everyone else who ordered through other distributors has got their copy but not the people who ordered through Wayland.
I bought 2 copies of Ice Storm. One from Element games and one from Wayland. The Element games one came about 2 weeks before the Wayland one and I ordered that first.
As the Wayland email arrives, this is a timely reminder not to buy from them 😉
Aye. First and last order i’ll be placing with them. Heard nothing but bad about wayland.
Nope. I pre-ordered through Miniature Market in the US and mine still hasn’t shipped. The Warstore also just shipped their orders late last week, but they’ve been doing a very good job communicating with customers (e.g. when the shipment was held up at customs). For all I know my order is somewhere in limbo and even with a pre-order I have no idea if I’m getting the CSU promo figure or not because of this whole debacle.
I think that is more of a problem with Wayland than Infnity
Most of the people who orders from other venues have already gotten their O:I boxes.
And it is not the first time Wayland have had this problem
Is that price a euro rather than a pound sign I take it?
So – hopefully UK purchasers can expect something around £45 (with free shipping perhaps) once it goes on pre-order with retailers?
£50 RRP it seems. Discount varies 😉
Stoked for this, take my money CB.
Nice looking but I have far too many games to keep me amused…
But this one is a VERY good one 🙂
There is a paradox in this release: seeing it now I realize that I’ve been waiting for this release my entire gaming life… it’s as though some 4th dimensional echo of a future self has reached through the viscous barriers of time and gifted me with the inescapable feeling that nothing in gaming thus far will compare to the majesty of this release. That or it’s the feeling of the breakfast burrito I had this morning – in either case, something wicked this way comes!
I know exactly what you mean.
The Infinity thing.
Not the burrito thing.
I’ve been vaguely aware of Infinity for the past couple of years, but I’ve only recently looked into it properly. Now I’m at the point where I’m watching videos, listening to podcasts and lurking on forums for a game that I don’t even own yet!
I don’t think that I’ve ever pre-ordered a miniatures game before in my life, but now I’m getting giddy waiting for my Operation: Icestorm to appear.
Good timing as my first Infinity test mini hits the painting table. I’m in!
Got my ice storm already preordered this from the war store a lot cheaper
Any idea when the french version will come out?
Nooooooo. I was hoping for another sexy chick not a big butch dude. 🙁
lol
Just had a proper look at the figure on Angels facebook page… This is one limited edition i’m actually not all that arsed about to be honest.
This looks great! I wish it was hardcover, but thats only a minor disappointment. Maybe there will even be a hardcover version in the future. Either way I am pretty sure I am getting this, but am going to wait till my operation icestorm arrives so that I can actually play my first game of Infinity first lol.
I shall have to keep playing with my old rules until I use them up….;)
