The Paint Contest for 2024 will take place over three categories...
- Beginner: If you have been painting for a short time and still have a lot of room for improvement or you are a novice competitor, this is the perfect category for you. You will lose your fear and show your work to the world and to other competitors.
- Advanced: you have been painting for a long time and your miniatures look amazing. It is a perfect category for amateur painters.
- People Choice Award: all participants may choose to participate in this category using the hashtag #InfinityPeopleChoice (+ the other 2 hashtags of the contest #InfinityUniverse #InfinityPaintContest) The Corvus Belli jury will choose the 20 best that will go to a second phase Where the public will vote (with the most likes on Corvus Belli's Instagram).
The one with the most votes from the public will win.
Anyone who wishes to enter must choose which of the Beginner and Advanced categories they are going to enter. Anyone can take place as part of the People Choice Award. To get involved, you will need to fill in this form HERE.
More rules are available for you to sink your teeth into on the PDF linked above but there are some great prizes up for grabs for those taking part.

The closing date for registration is 11am CET on August 16th 2024. People Choice Award Voting will then take place between August 19th - August 25th and the winners will be announced August 26th 2024.
Are you going to be taking part? We know that we have some excellent painters in the community who could cover both main categories. We'd love to see what you do!
Let us know if you're giving this a go?

That’s a pretty big prize!
Advanced Category
Beginner’s Category
Come on, where’s the Category for just regular people?
In every competition it is the best model that should win, this should not be any different. The problem is that the title ‘advanced’ might make people give up before they try.
Maybe if they just ditched the word ‘advanced’ and opened up several categories like ‘Single figure’, ‘Tag’, and ‘Diorama’ and divided the €5000 euro between them – I think it would encourage more hobbyists to join in.
Have you seen the level of painting skill in the Infinity community? It’s insane. I love painting but I wouldn’t bother entering because I wouldn’t even get in the top 1000
@onlyonepinman personally the level of other people doesn’t bother me. The higher the standards of competitions, the harder painters work and the better the standards become. In the eighties, sci-fi and fantasy painting was very poor compared to the historical scene. Now I would say we are the better painters over all. I do not want the standards to be lowered just so I have a chance of winning at my current level; nor do I want to go all woke weirdo and give everyone a medal for participating. At best, they can open up a category for ‘Intermediate’ painters,… Read more »
If you enter a painting competition you are very much in competition with everyone else in the competition.
Yeah these painting contests do bring out some amazing levels of work. In the mid-2000s, I was lucky enough to win a 2nd place Golden Demon. The other categories I entered made first cut. The level of skill back then was crazy, and it just gets better every year.
To get my 2nd place in my category, I put in 45 hours on ONE model. I kept track, just for fun. To win today, I would say it would be 10x the effort. It would at least feel like it!
Reading the contest rules: “To participate you will have to share in social media (Instagram, Tik Tok or X)” – yeah not happening then I guess. Funnily there is no mentioning of “the mini must be an Infinity model”. Unless I missed that you could enter with any miniature XD
Then, I hope someone enters a Space Marine dreadnought and calls it a TAG – just for laughs!
I don’t do social media, either.
