Burn Rubber With Infinity’s New Kum Riders!
April 10, 2014 by brennon
We've got ourselves an awesome looking preview of some re-sculpted miniatures, the Kum Riders! See what you think of these deadly bikers coming to the world of Infinity...
"Forward, Forward Kum! Go to meet the enemy! The sun illuminates the hawk and the prey! Hiuu-ey! It’s a good day to kill and be killed!" Heard in the Kum lines before the front of Halil was broken. NeoColonial Wars.
Haqqislam Kirguizes are rough and temperamental men who have never followed anybody’s law but there own. They posses underground drug labs hidden in the mountains of Tien Shan. They have weapon factories, machinery to forge money and well equipped mechanic workshops. Kirguiz riders love alcohol, noisy motorcycles and beautiful women.
They are a turbulent people, friends of revolts and fights. The Haqqislamite army recruits the most skilled of them for the Motorized Kum units, where they can give free rein to their aggressive drive. The Kum are fighters ready to get into hand to hand combat, on foot or on a screaming motorbike, to destroy the enemies of Haqqislam. They keep the old Kirguize answer to their enemies: North, South, East, and West! Where will you find the Kirguizes? By Alexander’s Silver Hand, around their enemies! Crossing the battlefield at top speed on their roaring motorbikes, through enemy fire, the Kum have forged a terrible reputation as intrepid and reckless bikers…or as absolute psychopaths, depending on who you ask. It is said that the members of the Kirguize tribes are a bit crazy but they are the wildest, most obstinate and audacious men you could find riding, kicking, and cutting up people all the way from the Tien Shan mountains!
Do you think they will be joining your road warrior gang?
Oh like that name isn’t going to have people snickering. lol
Indeed, I can never get past their names. Excellent mini, horrible name, whatever it means.
It means “sand” in Turkish.
And how is it pronounced?
“koom”
you know i’ve never even realised that until you said it, I always read it coomb thank you for making me realise I need to reset by dirty joke radar!
Exactly the same here :/ Damnit! That aside, lovely minis! Much better than the old ones!
Yeah, this wasn’t very well researched. The word is frequently transliterated as Koom (probably for exactly this reason) so it’s not like they couldn’t have used that instead and gotten away with it. I think changing it before printing the second batch of boxes would probably be a good idea.
Ok, they’re a big improvement. Almost tempted to start Haqq now… 🙂
Dayum! Cooler bikes than JSA? I haven’t even painted the JSA yet. Dayum!
I want! A million times I want!!!
I’ll miss the iconic posed girl.
The female kum-rider who wanted it from behind? One of the worst poses in the game 😉
Holy cow, those are beautiful.
Really loving the flame scheme too.
I’ll be picking up some of these just as soon as I stop crying in the corner with the knowledge that I’ll never be able to paint like Angel Giraldez.
There i feel your pain…
Talk about super epic bikes! I will say that the other versions where well made as well, but this just pushes the envelope a much more.
YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!
Nice. Are they on 60mm bases?
I want them and I never even played a game of Infinity ..
Too Harly Davidson for me but all in all excellent models. I am glad for all who like them.
Looking fantastic really!
Awesome minis. A huge improvement over the old sculpts. I can just see my wargaming funds shrinking rapidly.
Awesome minis, terrible name! The intent was ok, but everyone knows that wargamers are big kids (hasty generalisation fallacy) and will find this hilarious.
Beautiful work from Corvus Belli, their infinity range just keeps getting better.
The long haired guy reminds me of Snake Plissken before he lost his eye.
I would like to meet a Haqqislam player, who gets these models ,so we can have a biker war with my Yu Jing Aragoto Senkenbutai.
Now if I could only get that ‘born to be wild’ song out of my head every time I look at these minis.
So, when I started Infinity and choose Haqq as my faction, I was a bit envious, because every other faction had cooler biker models. I also didn’t want to buy bikers for my arabs. Now? I’m sure as hell that I will, because space choppers… 🙂
Also kudos to Angel Giraldez for the usually amazing paintwork.
Haws anyone seen my jaw? I dropped in somewhere around here.
I’ve already, quite recently, invested in several of the older bikes…. fortunately, it wasn’t very much…. the new bikes look really good….
I have the old ones already thank god(allah) as I don’t think these bikes fit in with their style. dont get me wrong I do like the minis its just not for Haqqislam
Maybe someone should send them a Profanisaurus and tell them to avoid calling anything by any name similar to anything in this book. It would help hobbyists avoid unfortunate misunderstandings with their better halves.
The name is simply tragic…
Damn! The bikers are very cool! I’ve been save from starting Haqqislam despite some very nice models. But, now it is over! I hope I can wait until we get informations about the new Sectorials.
