A Shasvastii Gwailo Takes Aim At Infinity Defiance
July 12, 2019 by dracs
Corvus Belli have previewed another of the sculpts coming to their scifi dungeon crawler Infinity Defiance.
This is a Shasvastii Gwailo, one of those alien members of the Combined Army that are rapidly growing in prominence and power.
Compared to the currently existing Gwailos in Infinity, this one seems geared up with even more high-tech equipment, marking them out as an elite.
Corvus Belli are apparently in the process of updating the Infinity Defiance website a bit, so hopefully there will soon be more details revealed about the game itself.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I do like it but I also miss some of the flavour of the old sculpt and design.
I just assembled two of their older miniatures. I don’t miss the old designs…
The assembly design was a nightmare for sure 🙂
I meant the design aesthetic
The miniature does look good but as Paul said it’s missing the lavour of the old Shasvastii design, if it wasn’t written in the text I wouldn’t have known it was a Shasvastii.
Does anyone have a link to the old Shasvastii sculpt so that i can compare?
These sculpts look great to me. I’m intreged to see what Corvus Belli make of a dungeon crswler.
Well one is the painted one in the article, other Gwailos sculpts are here https://store.corvusbelli.com/search?q=Gwailos
and other Shasvatii are here https://store.corvusbelli.com/search?q=Shasvatii
I’m still a little lost. There were a few ‘shasvastii’ there, none of which looked much like the one above. I’ll go and look up ‘shasvastii’ later.
The old sculpt as I said is the painted miniature in the above article. The render in the article above is the new look for the Gwailo and you can see all the old Gwailo sculpts in my first link.
And yes the new one (the render) and the old ones look very different.
Oh i see. I misunderstood. Quite a new look and more hi tech indeed. I suppose it might not make the old sculpt redundant as the new Shasvastii might have different stats.
Those are some great looking miniatures.
At this precise moment I am more interested in Operation Wildfire, the new Infinity Starter set that has gone up for preorder but absolutely no details of what is in the box. At the same time they’re previewing miniatures for a kickstarter that is several months from launch. I love Infinity and I am excited for Defiance, not least because I love the RPG, but I find it strange that they’re asking people to stump up cash now to preorder something with zero information whilst simultaneously previewing a kickstarter due to launch October/November
The page on their own store tells you everthying that is included, don’t know though when they put it on their website:
https://store.corvusbelli.com/wargames/infinity/initiation-sets/operation-wildfire
They’re also showing it on their GenCon sale page where I expect to see a bundle of it with the advance pack and the Valkyrie, including several exclusive models…
https://store.corvusbelli.com/gen-con
Note – the Valkyrie model is packaged as being a cross over model compatible with Infinity, Aristea and Defiance!
It goes on sale at Gen Con as far as I am aware. My understanding is they’re taking preorders now but revealing at GenCon. Erm, no thanks. Show me what you’re taking my money for before I part with it.
It’s not really enough to see a list is it? You wouldn’t buy any other game or miniatures without actually seeing them would you?
Pre-orders begin today, and probably NOT co-incidentally 😉 …

Wildfire contains starter models for a new CA Shasvaasti sectorial with the new look similar to the Defiance model above.
It also includes the starter for the new O-12 faction.
I also see mention of 3mm card scenery and accessories (templates & markers?) plus a new type of base showing Los/facing.
Intrigued, but although I play CA, I’m an Onyx so not yet tempted.
I’m intrigued by O12 but there is no way I am putting money down for a preorder until they actually show me what I am preordering
A fabulous looking battle suit.
I am really want to see what this mini will look like after it gets the Angel Giraldez treatment.
For sure 🙂
