Infinity 3rd Edition 300 Point Battle Report Part 2
October 19, 2014 by crew
In Part 2 of this Infinity 3rd Edition Battle Report Carlos and Killian continue to fight it out with their 300 Point Nomad and PanO armies.
Things really get into gear now as each side starts taking numerous casualties in what turns into a 5 round grudge match as neither player is going down without a fight!
Want to win armies like in the video?
The armies you see here are a match for the armies you could be fielding if you win our 55K Facebook Likes Challenge (Click Here for Details).
Like the terrain?
If you like the look of the District 5 Gaming Mat it's from Micro Art Studio and the Silhouette Templates are from another cool terrain company called Warsenal.
Remember to comment for your chance to WIN 4 expansion packs. Enjoy watching Part 1 if you haven't seen it yet.
What would you have done differently?
Good video, I’ll have to go watch the first one too.
Great video. I loved the outcome! Corvus belli, I know you mentioned that your target audience for Operation Icestorm is new players like myself. This is great and what you have put together is awesome (especially thanks to BoW Infinity week). My only suggestion is to please put easy to find/ basic Miniature construction instructions in the Icestorm box or on the website. Perhaps something as simple as you will need these tools and/or here are some tips like wash miniatures first. I am new to the hobby and was a tad overwhelmed while trying to figure out what steps… Read more »
To answer your question about bases, yes it will skew the game and be against the rules. The Infinity minis have specific base sizes and are regulated by the rules, CB actually did a whole bases update several months back. The reason for the importance is that measurements in the game are made from base edge to base edge in the upcoming N3 as well as in the quick rules used by OP:Ice.
First of all….Welcome to INFINITY!!!!….And yes you must cut space in the bases for the tab that actualy helps to fix the miniature to it And you MUST keep the size of the base as it is because they are used for measuring distances to MOVE, SHOOT….And also for checking if said miniature can or not fit somewhere in the table…Have a Blast and Enjoy!!!! 😀
Hi. You cannot change the size (diameter) of the base since it affects the game. Each figure represents a troop with a stat, and by changing the base size you are changing the stat too (silouete). In terms of movent it affects the corridors you can access, the amount of figures that can potentially sorround you etc. If you plan to rebase, I suggest you use slotted bases (they are dirty cheap on ebay or any wargaming store). You can gently bend the metal thing that joins the feet and put the miniature in the slotted base so that it… Read more »
Welcome to Infinity!
I’d recommend that you check out the forums, they are very helpful and friendly. A simple post of ‘how do I prep and assemble the Icestorm set’ would get you multiple answers from the community before you can change a diaper (congrats, btw!) and check back!
Cannot wait for my copy of N3. Great battle report guys, always great to see Carlos. This has been an amazing week overall. Infinity is going to be THE big skirmish game of 2015, hands down.
Awesome battle report how you guys do more
Loved the videos this week. They’ve convinced me to take the plunge and grab some Nomads & I must say I’m not disappointed. It’s been a really long time since I’ve enjoyed painting minis as much as I have the O:IS Nomads & Iguana.
I am still waiting on my preorder of Icestorm. These videos have me chomping at the bits to get into this fantastic game. Excellent work BoW and Corvus Belli
It seems that now, with the new threshold, that a list with a Jotum has become quite difficult to send into Retreat! without some dedicated anti-armor units spending a good bit of time to down him; even with a hacker as good as an Interventor. If you look at the numbers through out the battle it was mostly luck that gave Carlos his success (not to call him unskilled). WIP 13 and BTS 9 is hard to crack. To fail the possession BTS roll you’d have to get 5 or less, which Killian managed to do spectacularly, only a 25%… Read more »
great game, love the smack talk. killian missed using his ad guy .
Thanks for the Infinity week. With this game, you needs Infinity weekS!
Great match!
now it seems that there is finally a reason for having a medkit on a doctor. that new pistol sounds fun
What happened to the Akalis commando?
I was thinking exactly the same thing. Killian you fool! Victory could have been yours!
Well played!
Great battle report!
I like the presentation of the battle report. The end of turn bits from each player is a nice idea.
Love battle reports. Keep em coming!
Nice Battle report been fun to watch gives a better insight in to what the game offers when you play.
Good stuff, it’s nice to see the new mechanics in action. I love how competitive Carlos gets too, he’s clearly not bored of the game despite spending so much time working on it and promoting it.
Excellent battle report – worthy final to a great week of Infinity (sounds odd).
I wonder if they did another game on that Haqqislam-themed table?
Would be nice to watch as well.
I will second that as I’m mostly a Haqq player.
Even if I don’t win, I’m still going to buy those packs
…. I probably shouldn’t have told you that
The battle completed.
Not only did Killian forget his Akal commando, he also didn’t use the MULTI HMG’s ammo options. Carlos’ troops simply went unconscious, where they might have been hit by shock ammo and died instead (or by DA in ARO, for thet matter).
Killian! Your Airborne troop, he spent the whole game circling the battlefield from above :). He was supremely confident in your father knight… Or very skeptical about victory…
Great game!
He was busy watching Infinity Week videos 😛
Great battle report – all about the TO camo 🙂 More close ups of miniatures in play would have helped though.
