Zevanna Agha Casts Her Spells For Hordes’ Grymkin Soon
September 21, 2017 by brennon
Zevanna Agha is now scheduled for release this month to support the continued tide of Grymkin hitting the tabletop for Hordes by Privateer Press.
You might know her as a Warcaster for Khador but her true allegiance has come to light as the Grymkin find themselves marching to the battlefield. She has a rather epic Battle Engine as well to ride in as well which is a lot better than her previous piece of scrap!
"Having released the godlike Defiers from Urcaen to suit her own ends, Zevanna Agha has many plans in motion. Only time will reveal her true goals, but for now she is content to join in the chaos the grymkin bring.
Her hope is that those fated for greatness will be strengthened by the crucible of the Wicked Harvest and that the Defiers will aid in forestalling an otherwise imminent doom."
It's great to see the story weaving itself together around Warmachine & Hordes and how the different characters are affecting the overall narrative going forward. One imagines she's not a slouch on the tabletop either with some rather nasty abilities.
If You Go Down To The Woods...
Matched alongside her we also have the Witchwood model which is also available from next week and September 27th.
Working effectively has somewhat of an eerie Angler Fish for your Fantasy world this creature, born of nightmares and magic, will ensnare you and rip you to shreds within its claws if you get too close.
I've seen some superb conversions and paint jobs for this model which did some great things with both the tree and the comely maiden before it.
Mad Caps
Keeping with the craziness we also have the Mad Caps and their odd contraption.
"Mad caps are particularly volatile imps that congregate around a portable still. These hedonistic grymkin gleefully hurl volatile bottles of flammable moonshine at anyone foolish enough to wander near their raucous merriment.
Unfortunates who quaff the liquor from their still are quickly transformed into speedy and unstable cask imps."
Blowing things up is always fun. While the description says that the still they're gathered around is portable I can't help but think that the poor fellow who has to carry it has other ideas.
It's nice to see more of the dark whimsy coming out in these models as well as something more serious too.
What do you think?

Old witch is best witch .. love the model (Mini seems wrong for this big’un). Also a gateway caster into Grymkin. Love the Witchwood, stunning model. Gremlin thin is interesting, probably my least favourite Grymkin mini
Witchwood might be my favorite from those but i also like others as well.
Very much for me too. I love the look of the Grymkin, but this is the winner so far.
I like the grymkin in top hats too mecha82, and the old witch in her Baba Yaga’s hut thingy is very nice and hits all the right folk-lorish horror tropes which Gymkin aim for. I t is nice to see a caster in a Battle Engine too (Can Khador use this version of her @dags ??)
What I don’t understand is this Witchwood tree thing you are all talking about ??? I can’t see any tree, but jeez that girl there looks great.
@beardragon14 indeed she can – well it’s old witch 2 and 3. Double the goodness.
whichwood could be good for old man willow.
Good call
he’s an evil old git of a tree.
…. still can’t see any tree ????? *confused
Lol, @beardragon14 Use the two eye’d head
Lol.
Baba Yaga is one of my favourite characters from Russian (or any) folklore, and it’s cool to see her represented as Zevanna on the tabletop. I’d love to field a version which was a bit more in keeping with the original stories, but this is a nice enough take on the ‘hut with chicken’s legs’.
I really like the battle engine. scales a bit off though those rooms are a bit on the small side, not that it overly matters as it still conveys the concept.
I’m liking these
Looks like the Scrap Jack got bigger
