Tharn Forces Are Massing For Privateer Press’ Hordes

August 30, 2018 by brennon

The Tharn are the latest of the Hordes forces to be popping up as part of the Community Integrated Development (CID) cycle from Privateer Press and that means some neat artwork to drool over.

Iona The Unseen - Hordes

Leading the way we have Iona The Unseen here as the Warlock for the Tharn forces. She is looking as deadly as ever! A friend of mine collected Circle Orboros when we played Hordes and he was a big fan of the Werewolves but I was consistently drawn to the wild look of the Tharn and it's good to see they're getting a proper themed release soon.

Following on from Iona we have some more characters in the form of Brighid & Caul. Once again, wild and dangerous warriors with a sense of the theatrical in their dress sense.

It's nice that we get to see so much of the detail work but also some options for their poses as well. The challenge for Caul seems right for his bulk and the firing stance for Brighid is good to see; I very much approve of lots of action in your models!

Moving on from these named characters we have some more models which will help to bulk out your force starting with the Tharn Blood Shaman.

Whilst I am aware that these models are used for Hordes I can't help but think they'd make an awesome set of Marauders for use in your games of Age Of Sigmar. Imagine these warriors serving some Chaos God and you've got faithful soldiers for your War Queen.

This is shown off once again with the Tharn Bloodweaver Haruspex here.

The tribal designs are the thing that I think will be hardest to replicate when you get these models for your collection. The tattoos are going to be a challenge, as is working on a way to get all that brown leather down onto the model without swamping it!

Protect The Well!

Last but not least we have the Well Of Orboros which is going to be one of the massive Structure pieces for Hordes.

This is stunning. I love anything that introduces overgrown ruins and such to the tabletop and has that magical tinge to it. I could have a lot of fun with this beyond Hordes once again as it would be a perfect piece for something inspired by God Of War too I reckon.

What do you make of the new Tharn previews?
