Snarling Bog Trogs & Hutchuck The Ogrun Lumber Into Hordes
December 11, 2015 by brennon
Privateer Press continue to delve into the world of Hordes with some more upcoming miniatures in the form of the Bog Trog Trawler and Hutchuck the Ogrun Bounty Hunter. See what you think of this pair below, both of them being rather lumbering warriors with different outlooks on fighting...
Bog Trog Trawler
First up we have this ingenious Bog Trog who has managed to find himself a deadly looking contraption for picking off his foes at range. These are the kind of weapons that you would have seen attached to the sides of ships I bet.
"Physically imposing specimens, bog trog trawlers easily stand out amongst their tribes. Able to wield heavy harpoon guns thanks to their great size and strength, trawlers are as cruel as they are deadly hunters. These bog trogs delight in nothing more than springing upon their foes from behind, impaling their unaware prey in a spray of crimson before reeling them in for the killing thrust."
I think that the Bog Trogs are certainly one of the most fascinating races in Hordes and it's also another reason why I love this side of Warmahordes. They have such a varied amount of races and all of them are just that bit more interesting than regular humans.
Hutchuck, Ogrun Bounty Hunter
Following on from the Bog Trog we have the burly Hutchuck who will be smashing things apart with his mace and then pulling out a variety of interesting alchemical compounds to melt stuff too...
"Armed with a mace large enough to crush a man in a single stroke and potent alchemical compounds derived from formulas known to only a few, Hutchuck possesses a combination of brute force and adaptability that makes him one of the most sought-after bounty hunters operating within the Iron Kingdoms. Hutchuck offers his services only to those with deep pockets."
I think this is a superb looking miniature and I would totally go with the open helmed version of the character just so you can see the anger on his face. This is another step in the right direction in terms of the sculpting from Privateer Press too and it's neat to see them continuing to impress.
Which of the two do you prefer?

hard to say without stats but I like ogrun look.
I’m really impressed with these two. The first one I wasn’t initially impressed with, but when I realised it was on a 40mm base, I now can’t wait to see it in person and compare it to other bog trogs. He’ll probably have the drag rule like certain cryx units. If he has stealth he’ll be amazing. The Ogrun looks a little odd but I’d say that’s the camera angle moreso than anything. I love the aesthetic and equipment loadout he has. He looks looks good as a club wielding, boundy hunting alchemist. I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy… Read more »
So bulky… Not necessarily my cup of tea. And I really don’t like the bog trog, whose fins are much too thick.
LOL sounds painful as well.
I guess the bog trog will be a larger one (5-8 HP, slightly better stats) but will still have the ambush rule + a drag effect on his weapon (POW 12?) so he might help a lesser bog trog unit settle a more effective ambush against tougher preys.
Those are rather good.
The Bog Trog looks suitably vicious and sneaky. The Ogrun is hulking and looks like he means business. Mission accomplished I say.
the bounty hunter looks good I think.
Again high paint jobs and e bay spring to minds eye.
