New Hordes Plastic Tharn Wolf Riders Are Sent On The Hunt
March 12, 2015 by brennon
As well as a massive box of miniatures for Retribution Hordes is also seeing its fair share of new additions with the new plastic version of the Tharn Wolf Riders for Circle Orboros that have been updated into a new complete set allowing you to run the unit as a full pack...
"An eerie chorus of wolves precedes the attack of wolf riders. Bloodtrackers astride huge duskwolves, these warriors strike faster than most enemies can react. The wolves pull down their prey with powerful jaws, and their riders hurl javelin after javelin. Soon nothing remains on the field but meat for crows and the sound of howls fading into the distance."
These are new sculpts and while there isn't a whole lot of difference in the way they've been styled I suppose the warning is there just in case you have some rather awkward opponent who says these aren't the miniatures the card says they are.
I think these are really ace and the wolves themselves have been done particularly nicely with some really shaggy hair to get stuck into with a drybrush to make it pop. The riders aren't too shabby either and they actually look like they should be able to ride their mounts which always seems to be a problem with monster cavalry.
What do you think of them?

I do like those.
Meh.
Nice will add these to my mountain of must have/can someone get me please list.
they certainly dont look strong enough to support a human rider, the riders themselves look very rushed … PP going backwards with these imo
That seems observant to me- these minis came out six or seven years ago in metal. These are just re-casts in plastic (one advantage of PVC plastics is that you can make plastic versions of metal miniatures).
The cavalry has always been a very expensive unit in metal, so the converting them to plastic make loads of sense to me.
ah well that explains it then 🙂 would have been nice with a resculpt as well tbh
These’ll be great in my wolf themed Circle force 😀
