Peter Pig Miniatures has expanded their Dark Age collection with a range of new 15mm Carolingian miniatures in good ol' metal. You can snap them up right now and start battling during the 9th Century across Europe in your Historical wargames.

Carolingian Spear Command - Peter Pig Miniatures

As Peter Pig has detailed on their webstore, this would be great when representing the armies battling around Northern France during the same time period as the Vikings and the Saxons. So, you could mix them in alongside those iconic puzzle pieces of Dark Age history.

Carolingian Swordsmen - Peter Pig Miniatures

There is a good mix of infantry figures for you to consider picking up from them. You've got spearmen, swordsmen, javelinmen, bowmen and then armoured and unarmoured versions of these in some cases.

Carolinginan Skirmish Command - Peter Pig Miniatures

As you can see above, there are also options for command elements to match each of these different units. So, you could build up a pretty solid army of Carolingians on the tabletop with this range. There are some awesome 15mm Dark Age wargames out there that these could be used for and you might even consider chopping down the scale of SAGA for example!

It should also be noted that the Carolingians were pretty darn good when it came to cavalry. To that end, there are some good options for you to add mounted warriors into the mix as well.

Carolingian Generals - Peter Pig Miniatures

There are Generals (see above) and some Armoured Cavalry options too so you can charge across the battlefield and shatter a shieldwall. I think this is a really neat little collection that you might not have delved into before. Perhaps there will be some fun miniatures in this range that you could use to build your own Dark Age armies.

Have you ever thought about running a Carolingian army?
