North American Pre-Orders Still Open For Blood & Plunder
January 19, 2017 by brennon
Firelock Games really blew us away with their fantastic pirate game, Blood & Plunder, last year and it's now got to the point where you can begin to Pre-Order their factions for release around February this year. Sadly, this is only for North America but it's a start!
There are six factions in total (four of them shown here) with two for the English, two for the Spanish plus one for the French and finally the Unaligned Brethren Of The Coast as your proper pirates!
As well as the Starter Boxes which you see here you can also pick up all manner of other options too including additional troops, characters and the important accessories you need to play the game.
If you're unfamiliar with the game we did a Q&A with Firelock Games back when the Kickstarter was running where we went through what the game is all about. They have tried to make a realistic historical take on the pirate genre on the tabletop consulting experts and everything.
It's quite the awesome collection and the mechanics allow you to have some fantastic battles from ship to shore and back again. Now you just need to think about the kind of tabletop you're going to make to play with these miniatures.
Quick Reference Sheet
For those looking to get deeper into the game, Firelock Games recently added their Quick Reference Sheet to the Download section of their website giving you an easy way to look everything up.
We will certainly be keeping an eye on this one to see where it goes.
Did you back Blood & Plunder?

Whilst I don’t need another game system this looks interesting, a great period, really good pricing but…in such a low model count game having duplicate poses really puts me off.
If those pictures match the actual sets then yes … more stances would have looked better.
However this is also the reason why the pricing is good.
I’ll know more once my pledge arrives (got more than a few factions IIRC)
I think there’s nothing stopping you from using alternate figures.
Altough you might want to check if they’re the same scale to be sure.
@hazard – Painting them in different colours should help. In a game like this at least the miniatures are spread out. I think it’s more obvious in rank and file games as the mini’s are standing shoulder to shoulder.
I’ve backed it and last news we had was that they had begun shipping at the end of December.
They said it would take an additional 2-4 weeks for backers outside of the USA
I hope I get my pledge 🙂
Arrrh! Arrr! Avast me matey … or something.
I can’t wait to get my hands on this game. My only issue is the company is taking preorders before shipping international Kickstarters. Hopefully they will ship Kickstarters before preorders.
Although I have to admit I mostly want my stuff quickly because it’s going to take me about a year to paint it all and I want a head start 😀
Not a single pre-order will ship until every single Kickstarter backer’s pledge has left our warehouse!
On variety, we opted for more units and factions out of the gate rather than more poses. We do plan to eventually have some new pose options in the future. 🙂
I got my pledge a week or so ago and overall, I am happy with it. I got the French Buccaneers and a sloop. Generally, very happy with my pledge, the Ship is fantastic, loving all the cannons and options. The figures have a lot of character and details, but there is a lot of clean up to do. mold lines are pretty pronounced and there is a lot of flash to trim off. pretty much every sword and rifle had to be bent back into position, but that is going to happen in transit no matter what, so not… Read more »
