This new set comes with twenty-four multi-part plastic Late Roman Legionaries that you can assemble in a variety of different ways. The options presented within this set include a spatha, spear and plumbata alongside standards for a full command. You'll also find three different helmets in the set as well which should be great for those historical buffs.

This then means that you can create armoured warriors that obviously work for the Late Roman Empire but also can be tweaked to fit Goths, Burgundians, Saxons, Franks and the Romano-British too. I think I'd plump for the Romano-British and those fighting desperately to hold the frontier in a fighting retreat.

The sculpting for this set once again came from the talented mind of Rob Macfarlane and I think that they've done a super job. I tend to always see the Romans done in that "classic" look with the big rectangular shields but the Late Roman look is pretty ace. It slides further towards the Dark Age era that I prefer wargaming in any way!

Fight in civil wars alongside your general of choice, battle the Picts and Irish Raiders in the depths of Britannia or perhaps take on the Vandals of North Africa. The Roman Empire was vast so there will always be someone to fight!

Are you tempted by the look of this new plastic set?
