Gripping Beast Tease New 10mm Ancients With Parthians
September 12, 2019 by brennon
Gripping Beast might be turning to a smaller scale with a set of new releases soon as they teased new 10mm Parthian soldiers recently on Facebook.
Currently, we've seen a sneak peek at their Parthian Commanders and also a set of Parthian Skirmishers too. The models have been sculpted by Robi Baker and then painted up by Ben MacIntyre. A lot of folks are very interested in this as it looks like we're seeing a few more people look at smaller scales to play out big Ancient battles.
The details are looking pretty good on these smaller miniatures and the painting is top-notch too so hats off for that work! Playing at this smaller scale means that you could legitimately replay some of those bigger battles from history to an impressive level.
There are already a plethora of different rule sets out there for battling in 10mm as well as ways to simply scale back your 28mm games too. With that in mind, are you interested to see what Gripping Beast do with their 10mm range?
You can't just release a set of Parthians surely? One assumes we'll see someone for them to fight at the very least!
What do you think?

But it is nice to see a company try something new (for them), particularly one of the more well known companies.
Agreed
Those aren’t bad but we have seen better in 10mm scale.
the scale’s look a bit off legs too short?
Sometimes we can be overcritical of these 10mm figures when they are blown up in scale for the photographs. Believe me when you see then in real life (and they are based en mass), you’ll probably not notice all these “oddities”. I’m all for yet more 10mm coming into the marketplace (I already have quite a bit in 10mm for my historicals). Perhaps GB need to do some photography of these troops based en mass to really give the prospective customer an idea of what these troops are going to look like one they hit the table (usually in groups… Read more »
