Firelock Games’ Oak & Iron Coming To Kickstarter November 7th

Firelock Games are going to be coming to Kickstarter with their new sea battle game called Oak & Iron. November 7th is the launch of the campaign but before then we've got a sneaky look at what you get in the game!
The set is going to come with everything you need to play as a small fleet of ships. There will be vessels of different sizes and the game scales well to not only work with small engagements but also larger ones too.
If you'd actually like to check out some gameplay from Oak & Iron then you can see the video we put together last themed week!
The game is looking like it could be a lot of fun and offers up a chance to play some larger sea battles from the period and link it into your skirmish games too.
I really like the detail on the ships and the nice clear bases with very clearly defined markers too. I think these are going to be fun to paint.
I wonder how many different ways you can play the game what different nationalities get thrown into the mix?
We shall wait and see with the Kickstarter coming next week!
Are you going to get Oak & Iron?
"Are you going to get Oak & Iron?"
That is a beautiful play area. All of this makes me want to get into a 7th Sea campaign again
Cool surface, was it Epoxy Resin for the Water or did they use a shower door glass? I have seen both done.
The top pic is definitely resin. They had a article showing it being made on their website. The lower pics i’m not sure, too much glare on the surface.
I was not able to find anything on their website. I was just trying to see how they did it. There are a bunch of DIY videos on youtube that show similar builds.
Nice great for first, second, an third, line ship’s in naval battle’s
Will there be a Spanish silver fleet ? 😉
Looks really nice.
It’s aesthetically pleasing so helps with the immersion into the game. I have to say I’m more than interested.
I really do like these style of games. Now if I can just find players in my area…
Will be the last Kickstarter of the year for me
I really like the look of this game.
Oh yes, firelock shall be getting more pennies from me!
Count me in.
Cant wait for this. Though I think I preferred the bases from the demo game. If the status markers are now put on the ship cards it’ll be harder to keep track of things, than if they were actually on the ship bases, especially if theres 20 plus ships in play! Anyway count me ‘All In’ whatever!
I’m going to need a copy or two of this!
