Deep-Cut Studio Lay Down The Streets Of Rome With New Mat
February 21, 2019 by brennon
Deep-Cut Studio is getting stuck into a bit of Gangs Of Rome with their new official mat, produced alongside Footsore Miniatures.
The design lays out a paved section of the mighty city, the centre of the Roman Empire. This then matches up really well with some of the bases and terrain that you can get for the game. The mixed pattern offers up a nice base to begin building a tabletop.
Because this is an urban environment you might also avoid some of the clashes that you get when adding painted terrain to a pre-finished mat. I think this is because you don't need to try and replicate rolling hills, fields and a sense of the 3D in the environment.
Are you going to be snagging this?

Got it last year with my GoR starter…
I do wonder if this is finally appearing on the site are they going to make larger mats available.
must pick one up 🙂
Looks like they saw your wallpaper paving 🙂
I matched the wallpaper to the mat. I’ve had it since Jan 2018 ^^
Nice for town game’s.
I will wait for the 6×4.
OK – so it’s only a 3×3 mat so not representing a massive area, but I doubt that Rome would have been that densely and neatly paved. I suppose you could p!ace other surface terrain pieces on it…
Maybe I,m being a bit too pedantic? It’s only a game!
if you’ve not seen GoR you should have a look densely packed is where it’s at the amount of paving that would actually be visible in a game is incredibly small.
