The Wargames Factory Samurai Ride to Battle
June 11, 2012 by brennon
Here's one for Darrell! Wargames Factory are bringing out another set of Samurai figures from their Historical Range. Check out the 16th Century Samurai Cavalry Art below...
This is the art work for the front of the box and as you can see they are coming in 28mm scale. It will be interesting to see how these turn out but I have faith it should be a pretty awesome kit.
Will you join the ranks of the Samurai?
Cavalry support will make the army more well-rounded but I’d rather hear more about the models because WGF still needs to work on their box art. The rider looks good but the horse looks too demure in the face, more like an illustration in a book for little girls than a charger bred for war.
Now this has been a long awaited arrival. Bring them on! We need an unboxing of this.
Wargames Factory has come a long way in the last few years. I was thoroughly disappointed with their Celtic cavalry, but bought some of their Vikings last year, which were a quantum leap forward, and was even more impressed by their more recent Saxons. You can’t beat the price, even if you have to do some fidgeting to get the heads and arms on right. Hmmm…let me see…should I spend $20 on a single GW figure, or buy 32 infantry or 12 cavalry at Wargames Factory for the same price? Wish they had more fantasy stuff!
Oh dear here we go again. I liked the previous releases in the Samurai range by these guys. It has to be said I almost did not buy them though based on Darrels review and assembly alone. The art work from these guys on the box is seriously bad and thankfully does not reflect on the contents. Do us a favour BoW and give Darrel a multi selection of bases to get excited on and keep him away from the unboxing. Otherwise we will see a selection of riders facing toward the tail of the horse or worse with his… Read more »
I wonder if Darrel judges his pizza based on the box it comes in :-). About as relevant to the finished product.
I will probably pick up a box of these. I got the Samurai and some Ashigaru. I was quite pleased with them, but they required too much assembly and it was a hassel to line up the arms nicely. Hopefully these come in fewer pieces, and they drop the 2 piece body altogether. The horse art looks awful.
I have to agree with you guys. I’d like to see the models especially the horses before I would purchase. I’m sure they will look great mixed in with perrys though.
Maybe that Takeda army I have half dreamed about will become a reality.
