Victrix Send Men to Swell the Ranks of Ancient Greece
May 21, 2012 by brennon
Ancient warfare gets some more warriors to fill its ranks, this time from Victrix. They are proud to show off a mass of Hoplites for Spartans, Athenians, Thebans and Mercenary units.
Each of the Box Sets comes with 48 multi-part plastic miniatures in a range of stances with a variety of options. The Athenians are going to be out first on the 24th of May and followed shortly afterwards by Spartans, Thebans and Mercenaries.
As well as the miniatures, Victrix are also working on a set of transfers so its easy to decorate the massive shields of the Greek forces.
Could these be the 28mm Greeks for you?
THIS! IS! VICTR…nah, too easy. 😉
I remember the preview resins of these and they don’t seem to have lost any detail in the translation to plastic – nice crisp breastplates and skirts.
Also good to see is the variety of available sets and the fact that each set has options – all the better for historical accuracy but also for ease of kitbashing – there’s a Kingdoms of Men army for KoW in these figures somewhere with some fantasy-style extras…
Don’t worry I had to resist the ‘This is Sparta’ line too…it’s far too easy to fall back on!
BoW Ben
Those are some nicely sculpted spartans that make you shout “This is Spartaaaaa!” while being historically accurate.
I’ve been waiting for these beauties
Looks like the wait has been worth it hopefully they will look ok next to my Foundry greeks
I like them so much it nearly causes me physical pain. 😀 This will be my entreé into Ancients.
