Tanks & Tank Hunters Take Over Flames Of War
January 17, 2014 by brennon
Flames of War are bringing out all the Desperate Measures related tanks and tank hunters this month with a mass of new releases for your World War II gaming. See what you think of these explosive additions below...
Let's start things off with some proper tanks including the IS-2 obr 1944, Aufkalarer 38 and the Tank Killer Company that will be blowing them apart hopefully!
These are some neat looking tanks and one of the main draws of Flames of War is the fact that you can bring all these kinds of vehicles to the tabletop to blow seven bells out of each other.
We also have these vehicles with mounted anti-tank guns for making sure the armour doesn't advance too quickly. Above is the Sd Kfz 234/4 and the Sd Kfz 251/22D respectively, both equally up to the task.
It's not just vehicles that can take down tanks and other pieces of armour though. Sometimes it's better to just send in the infantry and take them down from blind spots with folk like the Motorstrelkovy with Panzerfausts and Tank Hunters.
If you prefer the airstrike approach then you can send in Oberst Hans-Ulrich Rudel to finish the job. This pilot managed to destroy a fair bit of kit during his time in the skies.
If you like your tank battles this new set of releases gives you plenty to get on with.
What do you think?
Your stats are incomplete by a long, long way.
Rudel flew 2,530 combat missions claiming a total of 2,000 targets destroyed; including 800 vehicles, 519 tanks, 150 artillery pieces, 70 landing craft, nine aircraft, 4 armored trains, several bridges, a destroyer, two cruisers, and the Soviet battleship Marat. Joe Stalin put a huge bounty on Rudel (dead or alive).
No pilot before or since has ever managed anything like the sheer amount of combat time, and it is highly unlikely that anyone ever will.
I stand corrected. Incredibly impressive.
They even made a medal just for him as he had everything else hahaha, his rules are bonkers too, even I would use him
Those are all great models.
Rudel is insanely good, he’s on my shopping list. Besides, Stukas are so swish.
