Russia & Austria Clash With Perry Miniature Releases

Perry Miniatures have got a whole bunch of fantastic looking Napoleonic miniatures for both Russia and Austria. See what you think of their Mounted Jaegers and the Austrian Cuirassiers alongside a sneak French addition...
Now those are some cool looking soldiers. I do like the look of Napoleonics and I have enjoyed playing through video games like Empire Total War but never got myself into the miniature wargame equivalent. It's obviously very good to know that Perry Miniatures have you covered though.
Above we then have these Austrian Cuirassiers in a variety of poses including charging, with swords up, and a command pack rallying the men into a charge. The sculpts are nice and look like they have a good level of detail to them, but then again the Perry twins are pretty good with their sculpting tools.
Rounding things off we have some French Cavalry wrapped up warm as they retreat from Russia and more specifically Moscow, or so their details say. The French, retreating? Who would have thought it! I jest, I jest.
If you're looking for some mainland European cavalry this could be for you.
Will you be adding them to your army?
The French are only capable of producing a good army every 200 years, so these figures are spot on :-).
Well they had a pretty good one in 1914-18. They’re the reason we didn’t lose the First World War, they held the line for years until the British Empire could take up the strain. 1940 was a bad year for them, but the Germans beat everyone the first time they fought, including the Brits, Americans and Soviets. The first two were lucky enough to have seas to hide behind, while the Soviets had enough resilience to take the punishment. The French, not so lucky. Lovely models once again from the Perrys. I wish they’d do some more medieval and ancients… Read more »
I do notice yet again the GW fans are on the hunt for historical models as proxies for warhammer and 40k. Its a bit odd that there are so many admitting GW are so expensive and have so crap a range that they have to find proxies and EVERY historical release has at least one post banging on in this way. Here is a heads up. Historical gamers do not look to GW for proxies. Think about it. Is there something we know that you don’t? 😉 Maybe you should come over to the historical side? No more trawling for… Read more »
As for the figures. Great release to fill in some gaps in the two major opponents of Napoleon East of France. The Perry twins have been oddly quiet of late so its nice to know they are still working away.
Err, quiet? What about the Afrika Korps box? Perrys create great looking minis.
I still don’t understand why they didn’t make a plastic box set that could serve as both Austrian and Russian cuirassiers… it would have been so straightforward and even had enough advantages (cheap heavy cavalry, multiple nations) to sell plenty of boxes.
