Red Bears & Armoured Transport For Flames Of War
November 23, 2013 by brennon
Last weekend saw some new releases for Flames of War that can be used between your Vietnam games and your Arab/Israeli conflicts. See what you think of these little armour vehicles below.
The BTR-50PK (AAR221), BTR-152 (AAR211), and PT-76 (AAR031) which are listed in the order you see them above have been bought out so you can use them between your games with two different setting systems. I think that's a pretty good shout by them and allows you to mix and match. Admittedly the paint schemes would probably change drastically between the two warzones.
As well as that they are revisiting Red Bear, a supplement for your World War II wargaming with the original Flames of War. There are a few changes that have been made to the previous book and you can check out each of them by following the link just above.
I do like the idea of some fighting on the Eastern Front and this promises to show off the Allies to their fullest.
What will you be getting?
Having played the new points for the Soviets the other day. i goes a LONG way to making them more competitive, lots more tanks and the new cat killer rules are REALLY good when they target the right things.
I think we will see alot more LW Soviets now
I have convinced my mrs to get me Open Fire for christmas after watching FoW FTW. Brilliant series. Can’t wait to get my copy. I just have no clue what army/ies I want to pursue. Would really help if you guys could do a video for the next step after the boxed set. Like what armies do what and the best place to find lists for armies, as just entering the game now, even as a veteran gamer I’m a little daunted at the task of finding the right army without laying out tonnes of cash just on books!
I don’t know a huge amount about the game but I do know this: http://www.easyarmy.com a legal website which has all the army lists in the game. Some are free and then you can pay $1 or $2 to gain access to the army lists in a particular book
