Perry Miniatures Massive New Plastic Kits for April
April 9, 2012 by brennon
Perry Miniatures are busy at the grindstone about to bring us two new plastic kits for April. Check out the Russian Napoleonic Infantry and the Mounted Men at Arms below...
Inside the Russian Infantry set is 40 (yes 40!) miniatures. That's crazy for the price and should mean that bulking out your forces shouldn't take too long. A lot of painting on the horizon though!
But if you're looking for more armoured warriors from an earlier period then how about these Mounted Men at Arms? Plenty of pomp and ceremony with these warriors but a mean lance or mace to end your life at the end of it all.
Do either of these plastic kits appeal to you?
Pretty sure the Mounted Men at Arms will sell out at Salute – and not just to historical wargamers. They would make FANTASTIC Empire knights to go with the plastic foot troops the Perry twins already make – lovely ornate barding, lots of assembly options, better proportions and price than GW models – it’s just too good to be true, except that it is true…
Those mounted men-at-arms are defenetly great looking. Then again those russian infantry are also very good.
The Mounted Men at Arms are all win. They will be required at my premises in multiple quantities and I’m still trying to finish my War the Roses boxes. Seriously everything those two touch is gold. I
Have to agree with the above, a few boxes of the war of the roses infantry and the mercenaries (40 men for less than twenty quid) was always the very best way to the core of a decent sized Empire army for warhammer, the mounted men at arms just add to that. A few character minis from GW, a few bits from the bitz shops to add some flavour, and along with undead using mantic stuff, probably the cheapest entry into warhammer there is. Got to say, great timing for this release, and like everything the Perry’s do, they are… Read more »
Can’t quite figure out the legs on the men at arms. They look too short. Maybe it is just the camera angle.
Its the saddles of the period that give that impression as they were bulky and made the rider sit higher than you would expect. Both these items are on my wish list as my WoR army is building nicey as are the napoleonics. The releases from Perry’s and Vitrix have made Napoleonics affordable thankfully and also understandable. It is nice to see they followed up the WoR range also as it also involves mass figures to carry off properly.
Don’t think that is the problem I am having. Looking again it could well be the camera angle foreshortening the thigh
I know what you mean, I guess they have a ‘skirt’ that covers the top of their thighs, which in the photos does look a little like the bottom of the torso hence making their legs look shorter…
Im sure the Perrys would make sure they were anatomically correct!
Ever since the box sets of WoR infantry I’ve been trying to find a reason not to start another army.
Guess I’ve just lost. These mounted Men at Arms are superb.
The Men at Arms – I’ll have to pick up a box or two of those.
Napoleonics, I am sorry but I don’t have the time for that at the moment even in the for of small stuff like “Sharp Practice”
Ah, finally! The mounted men-at-arms. Now I’m able to finish my Empire army.
really like perry plastics might pre order these
Those Men at Arms are a must. They look very good.
