Gripping Beast Gather Dark Age Forces For Salute 2013
March 16, 2013 by brennon
Gripping Beast have been a bit quiet of late but Salute 2013 will bring with it this new box of Dark Age Warriors. Check out the cover art below...
Some great artwork once again, and with a boxed set comprising forty models you should be able to make a fair few warbands. More details will be emerging about this box set over the next couple of days so keep an eye out.
I for one am looking forwards to being able to create SAGA warbands from potentially one box!
What do you think?

At last unarmoured plastic figures for theDark ages will be ordering a few boxes
Sweet! I initially went for Gripping Beast dark age metal minis for my SAGA figs due to the lack of unarmoured plastics. Based on the GP plastic Saxons and Vikings, these are pretty much a must buy for SAGA players.
These have been rumoured for release at Salute for a while. I strongly suspect there will be quite a few of us picking up a box or two there. Gripping Beast usually take pre orders to be collected on the day so that would probably be a wise move.
Can’t wait.
Does anyone think they can be converted into kilted warriors? I hope so 🙂
It should be easy enough to scrape the trousers off and reshape the legs a little, with these three sets from Gripping Beast and the two from Conquest Games the darkages are really well covered in plastic happy times
are they also scupled by Bob Naismith ?
Gripping beast have got some pic of these on their Salute page it looks like the every industrious Mr Naismith sculpted these so they are fully compatable with the existing armoured boxes.
The full box can be armed with spears or a combination of spears and other hand weapons, missile weapons are there in the form if slings no bows which is fine by me, think I will need about four boxes to start with
