Warren and Dave face-off in their version of the D-Day landings. It might not be anywhere near historically accurate but the guys have an awesome load of fun here and that's what counts when your wargaming! Cast your votes folks, who is going to win this one?
I doubt its hot enouh outside, you guys not wearing shorts yet. 😛
I was robbed…
the dice gods hate me
etc etc
though saying that my landing craft couldn’t have come in worse positions LOL
It’s because of your yahtzee roll from a previous match. You used up all your dice god points on that. Ever since, the rolls have gone to shit 🙂
I will say warren is going to win again! way to go guys, can wait for the video, THANKS!
warren I`m proud off u, look at u reading the rules! lol! NICE, well done man, that mean the u really like the game, I have to confess the I had my doubts about u in the beginning but now I see the u r on to the good path!!
great game, really good, just Dave u suck at rolling the dice LOL!! A+++++!
U guys did really good this time, some minor mistakes the is not worth to mentioned, it was a brilliant and enjoyable game Thanks again u guys ROCK ON!!!
Great video gentlemen! I enjoyed the beach setting and loved the gaming board, bunkers and buildings. I have a question for Dave. Why did you not take any ship based artillery? One of the advantages that the invaders have in an invasion is the battleships and cruisers pelting the beaches with fire. Is there no naval fire to help even the odds?
Somewhere there is a place where all the lost socks go.
Warren is the place where all the good dice rolls go.
Thumbs up!
It is worth saying again, the length of the videos is great. Getting the full effect of every part of the game is a real benefit to learning to play. Thanks for the videos guys and keep up the great work.
probably should have had some air support and/or artillery from the “boats” out at sea (standard artillery battery or 2 just counted as off the table) fro the americans. would have made the game a lot more even and interesting imo. still it was just a friendly game hey enjoyed watching
This is very true!
I was relaying the tale of this game back to Battlefront and they said dave really should have used ‘naval bombardment’ to soften me up.
We will have to try that!!!
Two very sporting gents – played for fun and very interesting to watch – loved the inverted periscope though a small camera feeding live to a screen would be better for actual gaming as all players could see the actual line of sight – one of those wee bullet cameras would be able to get all the way down there into the thick of it. Same goes for Bolt Action games.
What next gents? Villers Bocage? Warren as Wittman 🙂
So. Warren wins again.
Anyone else getting bored with how predictable that’s becoming? 😉
Your welcome to play me at BATTLESHIPS on the chat sometime, I’ve managed to lose every single game of that 😉
Other than that, no ones winning streak can run this long so I’m sure things are about to change soon enough!
Hehe. I know. I was only messing. 😀
Loved all the FoW vids so far and this one was no exception.
Awesome table and very entertaining game. BTW, no need to test for motivation to counterattack, if attacker rolls no hits (p.162).
Like some people before me already said, some smoke and naval gunfire might have helped to even the odds. I’d also recommend that in a mission like this defender uses the rules for reserves. Armored reserves is a nice touch as it gives the attacker some time to break through the beach defenses before the armored reinforcements just box him in.
Also, Dave should have his dice court-martialed.
Flames of War: for the Streaker 😀
Well next time we play I am bringing the pain with Irish Guards air support and sextons…. time to play a proper game!!!
Also practice for this GT…. Cant believe Im going to that…. WARREN!!!
Yes lots of things I could have used to soften up the defenders, I probably would have forgot to use it anyway lol
Warren got two WWII games on two systems this week, I got none, No Fair !!
Its good to be king isn’t it lol
Hi guys
That was an excellent amazing game to watch guys really enjoyed it can’t wait for the veitnam games. Warren would you be able to use Dave for Warmachine as a demo game he would be really good at that.
Nothing against Warren here, but as a new FoW player with an Allied force it would be nice to see Dave have a fighting chance LOL. Would it be crass of me to ask what Dave was doing throwing his para’s to the meat grinder? Yer letting the side down Old Chap! Tee-hee. I loved Dave’s stiff upper lip response to Warrens “You successful took Pegasus bridge”, “Oh yeah…that’ll come in handy!” Just for the record my buddy who plays Germans is also kicking my ass right now. Damn his PaK40’s and Panzer IV’s. Great vid, loved the beach landing… Read more »
Yeah it’s one of those things that until it played out we (well mostly I) didn’t realize how tough @lafayette job was going to be.
Still I think it very clearly demonstrated how tough that kind of assault actually is! 🙂
That game was brutal. 🙂
I’d be interested to see some Mortar and Artillery action in the next game.
Unpainted minis? How GW-like.
What was the point value of this game?
I like watching the FoW FTW battles but Dave stop taking it easy on Warren! 😉
Dave remember when a bailed tank is bailed again it isn’t an automatic destroy but you roll motivation. If you fail the motivation then you are destroyed, if you pass it stays bailed
who won the hordes 2 player battle box
A platoon is pinned if it takes any casualties in an assault whether it wins or loses.
Dave you should really have let warren break off against your paras, there was no tactical benefit for him counter attacking as he could have gunned you down with far fewer casualties then assaulted what was left with the slugs the following round. You should at least have explained to him that he had the choice to not counter attack.
StuGs, darn auto correct
