Empress Don The Warpaint With Modern Military Specialists

Empress Miniatures have got themselves kitted out and they are sending three new military specialist teams into the warzone for some behind the scenes action. See what you think of these USMC and PLA special forces.
Certainly no slouches when it comes to making metal figures Empress have done a pretty good job on these. My one niggle would be that some of the models appear to be a bit on the lanky side but that could just be me used to seeing more heroic scale miniatures.
Combined with the kind of special forces models companies like Hasslefree bring out it would be neat to do a skirmish based game using these kind of specialists.
With some modern soldiers there's nothing really stopping you from using these within the Bolt Action rules system and making them one of the veteran specialist units.

That’s probably the case as Empress minis tend to be well proportioned, as well as excellent quality.
Then I am happily corrected. 🙂
I’m really looking forward to picking up my pledge of USMC in a couple of weeks because just as redben said, their stuff is excellent, as are their vehicles (most of which are from Imprint as I recall). I’ve already got a good selection of their US Army and Delta minis which I will one day paint just so I can put the “Modern” in MiniRama’s “Modern Warfare” section 😉
Meh. They just don’t look right to me.
Well, if you’re used to the typical fantasy “heroic” figures I can understand that a properly proportioned model might look odd. I’m a fan of Empress figures and they’re what got be back to gaming in 28mm, I’ve been able to trace back some of their miniatures to real world photographs and they are a very good match.
The only reason I don’t have an army from them is they don’t cover any periods I game. Even then, I’ve been close to picking up some of their SCW or ECW. Just some gorgeous minis there.
