Clockwork Goblin Lay The Russian Hammer-based Smackdown
January 3, 2014 by brennon
Clockwork Goblin are putting nose to the grindstone and working on more of their Weird World War miniatures. Below they have some of the renders for their Russian Battlesuits that come equipped with plenty of awesome weapons and a brilliant dude with a hammer.
This is a great looking set that reminds me of the original Iron Man suit that he crafts in that cave. There will be 28mm and 15mm versions but according to them the smaller scale ones won't come with the hammer because of the limitations in casting.
Either way these look awesome and I would love to pick some up.
What do you think?
Don’t understand why they can’t do the hammers in 15mm every manufacturer on the planet has done 15mm mini’s with swords, axes spears etc etc :/
Its a question of scale and positioning. A 1.5mm wide handle is 15cm across at 1:100 scale. A balance between ‘realism’ and production is obviously required and until we print the masters we won’t know for sure if it will work. Its probably us being ultra-picky, but its how we work/think.
I wonder could the 15mm be used in a WWW2 setting with Battlefront, PSC and Zvezda minis? Are there any applicable rules?
Tongue in cheek I know – but try http://www.clockworkgoblinminis.co.uk for a free set of rules……
