Bolt Action’s Finnish Forces Roll Out The Armour
February 13, 2014 by brennon
Warlord Games are bolstering the Bolt Action Finnish forces with a selection of Specialist Weapons for dealing with the enemy and a rather chunky looking T-26E Tank that will help support your infantry.
First up we have the specialist weapons with a Panzerschreck and Anti-Tank Rifle team making sure the enemy armour can't move without getting a shot in the hull. For the infantry and dealing with those troublesome snipers we also have the Mortar Team which can make force dug in troops to scarper or face a direct hit from a shell.
Rolling in to help on the armoured front we have the Finnish T-26E with a 45mm gun mounted on the top. It's quite the odd looking tank but pretty chunky and looks like it could handle itself in a fight.
The reason behind that is that the tanks themselves were taken and modified so while the chassis looks coherent the turret stands out a bit.
Are you playing as the daring Finns?
Yes the answer the last part of that article.
Though the mortar crew is the stand out of thewave. The elephant gun isr eally good looking and handy to pin tanks or more useful to snipe vet sgts ;-).
Tanks for the finnish are good but not really a go to as they are very easy to pin out of the game (though that tank looks cool and is British so that’s fun)
Weird combos continue… why is an early war AT rifle in the same package as a late war schrek?
While it’s nice to see these figures being made at all, this random bag mentality makes it hard to build coherent forces.
because for Finland the anti tank rifle was not an early war thing (only two ever made it to front line service)… the Elephant gun was not made in numbers till after the winter war and thus was use all through the war.. even in flames of war you take the anti tank rilfe…
and they are much better in warlord as you can pin any tank as it has a AP rating
funny thing in Bolt action the Schrek is garbage .
Very limited use… the L-39 just came too late. It was mostly used against machinegun nests and similar because it was useless against Soviet armor. Some were modded to full auto and used in AA role.
Your average patrol would definitely not be lugging it around.
I don’t care what the rules say. If it doesn’t really work and wasn’t really used, I won’t use it. And if the rules keep on that track, I’ll give the rules a wide berth as well…
