In a move that will probably excite most Weird World War lovers, Bethesda has announced that they will be running with the mighty series in the latest installment, Wolfenstein: The New Order. Check out the trailer above...
From the Press Release:-
"May 7, 2013 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced a new title, Wolfenstein®: The New OrderTM, an action-adventure shooter slated for release in Q4 2013. The game is being developed by MachineGamesTM, a studio comprised of seasoned developers who have been responsible for creating some of the industry’s highly-acclaimed games. Wolfenstein has been widely credited for helping establish and popularize the first-person shooter genre, and Wolfenstein: The New Order reimagines this franchise in ways both horrifying and dramatic. The official announcement trailer can be seen today at Gamespot.com."
So it looks like B J Blazkowicz will be back for some more Nazi plot-foiling fun. It certainly looks like it should be fun but we're still a long way off with the release set in the later half of this year.
Still it could give you an excuse to start that new Weird World War army you've been dreaming of. Maybe it will be made alongside our new Flames of War: For the Win series?
Will you be looking out for this?
I’ve always been very fond of Wolfenstein’s take on the Weird World War so I’m pretty interested to see what MachineGames do with this.
Its good to see its not Bethesda themselves doing this, seeing as they sorta ruined Fallout
