Arming for the Crusade with Fireforge Games
March 6, 2012 by brennon
So we have seen the Teutonic Knights from Fireforge Games, but now they are going deeper into the history of the Crusades with two new cavalry packs. This time its a set of Templar Knights and some Mounted Sergeants...
Now you can finally replay the scene from Kingdom of Heaven as the knights charge against Saladin's Cavalry. These sets allow you to make 12 different mounted units and will be releases at the Salute event in April!
Will you be searching the coffers to fund this Crusade?
God Wills It!
The Fireforge range is going to be a welcome way to expand the feel Ex illis minis give, plus they’ll be in nicely priced plastic without ‘tabletop DRM’ problems. If the new releases are as good as the Teutonic Knights this is really going to take off for them.
The Fireforge range is starting to look like its going to expand. They look really good assembled and painted from the photos I have seen.
Definately more to my tastes if I ever got back into doing historical gaming, and I may even end up with some handy bits leftover from the kits to add some medieval styling to my 40k Black Templars…
I wish I could see the minis 🙁 the cover art is nice 🙂
I agree. Cover art is nice but it would be great to see models as well.
Google image search.
Its good that those images were added after all as well.
And what nice looking knights those are.

Goodly knights
They’re my ‘friends’ on facebook and they are going to release some of the best cavalry models in quite some time. The beautiful thing is not only the models but how many gaming systems they’ll fit into: Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Warhammer Fantasy, Kings of War, any historical crusader or even medieval themed game.
The models are dynamic, pose-able, and I’m ever so excited to get my hands on them.
The only thing that is stopping me getting any is the long long trail of kits already winding through the land of my dreams
would very much like
Can’t see how they’ll fit into LOTR and Warhammer as they are different scales.
LOTR = 25mm true scale
WH = 28mm heroic scale (with massive heads/hands/weaponry like warcraft on pcp)
Ohh nicey nicey. Can’t wait to see the sergeants. Already have 20 mounted yeomen. one of the best units in the bretonnian book, more is always a plus
LOTR figures are 28mm not 25mm. Think I’ll be getting these at Salute 🙂
Really nice models. Teutons are not my thing but I can’t wait to see the Templer knights
In the other forums the owner of teh company says the scale is going to be between “Historical” and “Heroic”. Has anyone seen how they look (the teutonic ones) togheter with Perry Miniatures plastic medieval infantry? kind of confused why they go for a scale between historical and Games Workshop since the models will look odd in both systems now.
While I agree it is a bit of an odd decision, we are only talking a millimeter or two.
So imho it would not be a problem. Especially in WHFB where you have a whole bunch of whacky races anyway. lol

unboxing video…
Maybe not as good as in the box but i did it on the spur of the moment.
Well I say you have won your “In the Box” spurs lol
Looks a very good.set.
I might have to get the Crusaders when they are released.
The fancy hems are based on historically documented ones as far afaik. Certainly have seen them in illuminated manuscripts like that.
Those small rectangular bits are attached to the shoulders in those pics iirc
They used to wear decorated helms to scare the pagans of Lithuania and Belarus into thinking that they were fighting demons.
the good ol days where a sharp taste in stupid hats gets the job done against pesky heathens. BoW unboxing is awaited- ill utube up whilst i wait
