WoFun & Peter’s Paperboys Show Off New Punic Wars Plastics
May 13, 2020 by brennon
WoFun Games has been working with Peter Dennis of Peter's Paperboys on a new set of their plastic pop-out figures for use in your wargames. This time around they have been building up the Punic Wars range and looking at a band of rather ace looking Ancient warriors.
As with the rest of the range from WoFun Games, the plastic miniatures can be popped out from their sheet and mounted upon the bases that are included with the set. From peeking at what was shown off on social media, it seems like Peter Dennis was particularly fascinated by the colours that they managed to bring to life on these models. They do look rather spectacular.
This big army is going to include all of the options you need for rank and file troops plus a commander as you'll note in the image above. Plus, you've also got those excellent looking war elephants in the background which will act as your tanks on the Ancient battlefield.
The Punic Wars release is going to be available May 22nd so keep an eye on the WoFun Games webstore for their release if you're interested in this period. Until then, it is well worth exploring their webstore anyway to check out what else they have made available from Peter Dennis' range plus their own unique collection too.
Failing that, remember that Peter's Paperboys is a very cheap and fascinating way to get playing wargames on a budget. It takes a bit of time and skill to bring these armies to life but that's part of the hobby-based fun!
Are you tempted by these Punic War warriors?

Great looking figures.
These are great and I bet fans of the Punic wars are loving this but I’ve really got my fingers crossed for a Zulu War or Sudan range. I’m still aiming towards the Alamo sets but fielding masses of Beja or Zulus against that thin red line or square would be great ?
Peter Dennis’s art is perfect for this format – I’ll definietly be picking up a couple of armies when they get to a period that speaks to me. So far I’m not particularly interested in the Jacobites and I have ancients models in 28mm already. I may go for the Alamo range perhaps.
I think they’re going to pick up most of his in the long run. I was thinking about getting their own wild west 28s for use in some Legends of the Old West games.
That’s good news. I’m going to go for a period that I don’t already have in another format so for me that would mean something from Medieval through to about 1814 with some holes elsewhere (e.g. anything based in the America’s). He does Renaissance and I can see that being a good fit as I can’t see myself wanting to paint Landsknechts any time soon.
I see these and can only imagine how much the wallet of @avernos is nervously twitching right now.
I new they were coming but thankfully Punic is being covered by Clash. I’m waiting on the napoleonics appearing. I was planning on getting them from Wofun anyway, but if they do Peter’s I’ll be on it like a bonnet
Oh man.I’ve had a nosey around both sites and it’s all great.Scissors and my sausage fingered approach to hobby don’t mix though,so it would be Wofun all the way for me.I’d happily wait for any particular collection that had caught my eye from Peter to appear in the Wofun plastic.
I have the Wofun Napoleonics and am pleased with them, but I agree I would prefer Peter’s art if that was an option, it just works perfectly for this format.
I went for the ancients in the Kickstarter with plans to get the naps if I liked what I saw. Then they dropped the news that they were partnering up with Peter, at which point I felt like holding on to see what happens
