The Numidian Cavalry Is Charging Out Of Victrix In 2016
December 24, 2015 by brennon
Coming out towards the middle of 2016 we have the plastic Numidian Cavalry from Victrix which continues to supplement their growing Ancients range in 28mm. There's some work still to do on these but they're looking pretty good so far I reckon...
The final sprue will contain three horses and three riders along with all manner of different options for weapons. You will also have command options worked onto the sprue, as is the new Victrix way, including a helmet and cloak for the champion leading them into battle.
These would have been fast cavalry for the Numidians who would have darted around the flanks of an army and harried them with spears thrown from horseback before retreating and going once again. They were incredibly lightly armoured so would not stand up to continuous fighting.
I bet this lot would be great in an ambush on a Roman Legion or maybe as a unit drafted in to fight for them?
What do you think?

Ace!
Good grief… looks like I’m going to be lured into ancients after all!
Certainly a fantastic concept render.
I like the motion of the model.
