The Mighty Armies Of Rome Go To War With Forged In Battle
November 15, 2015 by brennon
Forged In Battle have some big plans for their Ancients range and this includes bringing the mighty forces to Rome to bear on the tabletop. With that in mind see what they had to say on the upcoming project below which will include a fundraiser on Kickstarter...
"This new range will cover the rise of Rome beginning with the Augustan Legions, through the first century Legionaries armoured in their famous Lorica Segmentata right up to the late second century AD. Plus we will have a host of enemies from Sassanid Persian armies through to the Franks, Saxons, Picts, Dacians and more than a few surprises..."
Their current range is already fantastic for 15mm wargamers and one of the things that people have been crying out for is, of course, the Romans and more.
“It became apparent while we were running the first War & Empire Kickstarter that people really wanted those first century Roman legionaries with the Lorica Segmentata armour and the square shields.
We had so many requests for those guys we knew what to make next. That's the beauty of Kickstarter you get to hear war-gamers opinions all in one place and that's priceless.”
We can't wait to see what the range looks like and hopefully the fundraiser will be just as successful as their last one for the project.
Will you be marshalling a 15mm Roman army?

Dropped a fair bit of cash on the last war and empire kickstarter, so probably won’t be able to resist this one…
Excellent stuff – anyone have any info on when the KS will launch?
Naah I’ll be getting Onus! and I got Fantasy Battleground Warfare. I’m toning down on the miniature painting and been doing so for a while.
Got hordes of Dark Eldar stashed away (and atm i don’t play 40K) for the future to paint. Tons of Lotr left to paint.
And for the rest got imminent skirmish projects to finish.
I’ll stick with Blucher cards, Onus! and Fantasy BAttleground Warfare for large scale battles.
>_> not to mention i’m running low on storage space!
Still waiting for the War and Empire rules to be delivered. I think it’s just bad tast to start another KS before they have delivered a former in its entirety.
So I’m not backing this one!
As far as I remember the rules were going to be free, and there was some family problems at the time. The first of the cards have started to appear on FB
