The Greek Hoplites From Victrix Enter A Bristling Phalanx
December 8, 2015 by brennon
Victrix have shown off some of the final elements of their Ancient Greek range. The latest showing is of Hoplites with Corinthian helmets, probably the most well known designs from the period. This is the 'tank' like design of the Hoplite that I saw first in Horrible Histories and the like!
These are some mean looking soldiers and you can just imagine how impressive they would all look arrayed before an enemy army, spears making them look like one very angry hedgehog. Add to that the big colourful shields and you have a splendid looking army.
With a simple conversion you can also make Eastern Phalangites. The change has been made simply by changing the armoured legs for unarmoured ones and then reattaching them to the base tabs. It's interesting how a few little changes can make for a big shift in geography.
What do you think of the Victrix range? There are also some Numidian horsemen coming soon giving the armies of Rome even more enemies to fight against. From there it looks like Victrix are going to try an entirely different era of history!

The successor kingdoms, now we’re talking!! Who’s up for some Macedonian Wars? Actually, that would make for an interesting bootcamp, hint, hint…
