Fight For Carthage With New Plastic Infantry By Victrix!
March 23, 2015 by brennon
Victrix have put together another amazing looking plastic set for anyone wanting to fight in the annuls of ancient history. See what you think of Hannibal's Carthaginian forces as he brings together his own Veteran Infantry alongside Citizen Soldiers and Libyan Skirmishers to fight the might of Rome...
As I mentioned they give you one hell of a huge boxed set of miniatures allowing you to make sixty two (yes, that many) soldiers. That's a frankly insane amount of plastic warriors but if you're looking for a massed army then this is clearly the way to go for your Carthaginians.
When you see the models ranked up like that you can't help but fall in love with the idea of playing some massive ancient battles. I think these Carthaginian soldiers look awesome and the plastic kit seems to be nice and versatile with plenty of detail too. A nice array of armour choices, weapons and of course a command set that looks heroic are on offer.
Even the more lightly armoured troops are looking superb and with plenty of dynamism to their poses too. I think it would be awesome to see what kind of colourful army you could put together with their ragged and worn out tunics matching up against the gleaming bronze of the Carthaginian veterans.
We talked about the lure of ancient historical wargaming a few Weekenders ago now and I still think it could be a really fun experience to give it a go.
What do you think of this mass of plastic?

YES! NOW NEEED! I have given a holy oath at my fathers pyre to see rome burn!
Great figures for Scipio to chop up. Good to see peltasts released at the same time.
There are literally so many great historical minis around at the moment, its totally overwhelming (for my wallet)
I hear you. When my missus recently told me I should expand beyond my fantasy/medieval world, I was at a loss. Three different genres vied for my attention: sci-fi, Napoleonics, and ancients… although I didn’t entirely discount WWII or steampunk. I ended up going with sci-fi, but only because I feel the opportunities for creativity are greatest there, and there are no constraints. And I still have all my old rules. If those two worlds don’t appeal to me on any given day, I can always poke around my missus’ old west and ACW hobby…. but I’m still tempted by… Read more »
ACW and Napoleonics are two periods which I’m fankly just trying to pretend don’t exist as I already have unfinished Vikings and War of the Roses minis let alone all my Bolt Action, Warhammer and 40k stuff.
I have got literally hundreds of unpainted minis that I was supposed to finish this past year and now Salute is coming soon 🙁
Likwise… I’m guessing I have over a thousand unfinished fantasy/medieval figures figures. I’ve really tried to put the brakes on getting any more, but the models coming out now from upstart companies are just getting better and better 🙁 .
I’m glad I live nowhere near Salute. It would be the end of me
Those are rather nice.
And one of them says to the general, ‘Ah ain’t goin’ on no elephant, Hannibal. Not when it’s being driven by that crazy fool.’
Victrix plastics must be among the best quality and value for money at the same time!
The only fear I would have over these are the number of parts per model… Building 62 minis with 3 or 4 pieces per mini is hell.
