The Ancient Samnites Are Next Up From Victrix
October 2, 2015 by brennon
Victrix have shown off some of the early renders for the Unarmoured Samnites that are going to be next up in their ever-increasing landslide of plastic miniature sets. See what you think of the models below...
With this new set of plastic infantry all of the weapon options will be built into the same frame as the command options for the game. This will enable Victrix to step up the pace on their releases and spend less time having to worry about alternative sprue designs.
There will be swords, javelins and additional weapon options for the troops and while they are all rather lightly armoured here they can still stand their own when working as a group. These Italians, separate from Rome, fought many battles against the Romans and were incredibly successful in a number of different wars.
What do you think?

Thumbs up for those!
The Republican Romans and Carthaginians are superb and those look equally lovely.
Sold.
Well done Steve & Julian, I’m really looking forward to seeing the Macedonians + Nellie!!
Like I needed more reasons to buy ancient stuff. Still, Victrix left a bad taste in my mouth after I appealed to them to give us a deal on a few figures to help teach a university Greek Warfare class. Never got back to me, not even to say “Sorry, we won’t support you.”
That made my decision easy: sorry, I won’t support you.
God, what a shame 🙁 if only I’d had the idea to recreate Bosworth on the tabletop as an undergrad
sounds like a great learning tool when you think about it, just a shame it didn’t work out for you @cpauls1
Those look really promising.
Only one thing to say really…they look SMASHING! =)
Now..if only I had someone to play historical games with…
