New 3D Ashigaru Preview from Wargames Factory

Slowly but surely more previews for the upcoming Samurai release from Wargames Factory are hitting the web. Check out the latest, a 3D render of the 16th Century Ashigaru, below...
What do you think, is it an interesting addition to the historical range from Wargames Factory?
Very cool. Do we know the scale though? The samurai set says 1/48-1/52 but I’m afraid I’m too used to the standard Xmm scale.
If the follow up with some halberdiers/spearmen I might try to get a box of each.
From what I have seen elsewhere that means 28mm Dais.
I really hope this and the others they have shown so far all come in plastic. I can see them used even for conversions for sci-fi ranges just to give then a new fresh look.
WGF are a plastic-only company
they do some nice plastics, and I do like the renders, but there has been a lot of politics with WGF in the past 12 months or so, hope they get it sorted so they can keep making nice minis
render looks nice but what will the minis look like?
The politics and internet based chatter a while back are a bit of a damocles sword for WGF
Been looking forward to some decent 28mm plastics- rather have perry ones (only metal at mo sadly)
This poor Ashigaru will be blinded the first time he fires that matchlock. The new sculptor is really bad, and Mr Mullins keeps trying to push that 1:48 scale = true 28mm size, which is just plain asinine! So with a sculptor new to 28mm (he specialized in 45mm and up), an moronic Manager and products that turn out to be crap (I bought some skeletons sets – four to be exact – and every box had broken pieces, especially the legs which stick out from the sprue AND you have to glue on the feet separately, Zvezda style; not… Read more »
