Hasslefree’s Maika Swings a Hefty Sword as She’s Made Into Metal
March 22, 2015 by dracs
Hasslefree Miniatures have published a picture of their greatsword wielding heroine Maika von Ostwald all painted up as they prepare to bring her out as a metal sculpt.
This model is a beautiful piece that makes for an excellent unit champion or adventurous heroine. As always, seeing the mini painted up helps show off the sculpt to its fullest.
Maika is already currently available as a resin master.
While a metal version might not have quite the same level of crisp detail as the resin model, it will still be an excellent piece. Speaking from experience, Hasslefree's metal models are superb character pieces, while also being more readily available than their resin counterparts.
Do you prefer resin or metal models?

She looks very nice. Pose is static standing pose but then again she has big sword so that helps.
Resin everyday of the week.
But this looks like a one piece (not the anime! lol) so would not be a pain to put together!
Who said you can’t have a female in armour that looks like a female because she doesn’t have tits the size of Japan individually encased to accentuate her femininity
Definitely going to pick this up. Hasslefree do splendid work and cast quality on everything I have picked up is A1, I doubt their will be much resolution loss between resin and metal.
I have the resin version and she’s a fantastic mini.
Big Hasslefree fan here – never tried the resin minis though – this’un would make a nice Carnavale character
METAL!!! \m/
