Join In With Steamforged’s Union In Chains Event For Guild Ball
October 9, 2017 by brennon
Steamforged Games are running their new Community Event for 2017 known as the Union In Chains which will shape the future of Guild Ball and its narrative as we find out where the players find themselves. The current preview is for new versions of Hemlocke for the Mortician's Or Hunter's Guild.
You can read the current story for Hemlocke with A Fate Unknown which takes you into the story on this particular lady as it stands. But, there are other players up for grabs and it is up to you to decide who they end up playing for.
Here's a rundown of the players and the teams which are vying for control...
- The Fisherman’s Guild & Butcher’s Guild will be competing for Gutter.
- The Brewer’s Guild & Mason’s Guild will be competing for Decimate.
- The Mortician’s Guild & Hunter’s Guild will be competing for Hemlocke.
- The Alchemist’s Guild & Engineer’s Guild will be competing for Harry the Hat.
...and it's pretty simple to get involved too.
- Register to the Steamforged Forum
- Choose a Guild you want to support – download an avatar and set it as your profile!
- Play a game of Guild Ball
- Write up a matching headline: “Shark Scuffs Shot. Butcher’s Capitalise”
- Recommended: Take pictures of the game (around three is ideal)
- Post in your chosen Guild’s Sub-Forum in the Union in Chains.
If you'd like to find out more you can delve on into the Union In Chains page where they discuss the prospect in more detail. It's awesome when the community gets to influence where the story and indeed the game goes next.
What do you think?

While I love the idea of the campaign, the thought that one of these will never be made is frankly cruel on steamforged’s part. Also the willingness to comission and bin sculpts for a community event is why I love them. Probably some psychological fertiliser there.
When they did this last year they only showed the winning sculpt of Ox, and there were some people suggesting that there was only ever one sculpt which we’d be getting regardless of the results of the Butcher’s civil war. I wonder whether we’re seeing both of these now to head off similar accusations.
Listening to Sherwin on singled out, I think that was a big part, also I think they said they got some feedback with people going if I’d of know that I would have x, like I would have never of failed Brisket knowing a win would mean vet Ox. So we will see all the sculpts this year, and the losing ones will never be released.
I like a man who can admit they picked the wrong side last year…… It is very admirable. *Sits back smug and contented in the knowledge he actually DID pick the right side last year ….. unlike others …. 😀
@beardragon14 well you do need to make up for picking swans …
Oh go and oppress some minorities Kaptain Khador . 😉 😛
Love the look of the Hunters sculpt for Hemlocke.. don’t get to play enough to influence the outcome of this campaign tho
So Mr @dags are we on the same side this year, Team: Gutter for Butchers???
I really like both these minis and agree, it is tragic that we will never see one in “print” , but them’s the breaks in the violent world of Guild Ball … sigh
I do like the way how, by and large, the Union Character’s name is appropriate for both teams competing for them …. This should be fun.
@beardragon14 there is another side? ….. even I can’t be that wrong… twice
My Farmers will be supporting the Brewers (after hiring out to the most persuasive of my local meta) but I love that Morts sculpt for Hemlocke.
Hey brewers are fine got to love the drunks.
Just got the starter box as a house warming present. Maybe we can learn the game and get involved.
