Warhammer Quest is Reborn on iOS!
August 21, 2012 by brennon
One of the most requested reboots for Games Workshop has always been Warhammer Quest. Sadly the table top game might have faded into the ether, but it's being reincarnated on iOS devices by Rodeo Games! Check out the trailer above and some screenshots below...
Ah this old box is a familiar sight to many. But this is what the game will look like come 2013...
From the release...
"By using one of our tried and tested game engines we can really focus on developing the parts of Warhammer Quest that made it such a great table-top game; truly unique hero characters and brutal enemies from across all the Warhammer races," explained Rodeo Games co-founder Laurent Maguire. "The opportunity to work with Games Workshop was such an exciting prospect, we are thrilled to have been entrusted with this facet of the Warhammer licence."
As mentioned above, the game will be available in 2013 but they will have a preview of it at Games Day UK this September! I plan to be taking a good look at this while I'm there as are a lot of you I imagine!
Is this a welcome return for Warhammer Quest?

Its happy and sad moment for me.
I love warhammer quest , but |I do wonder if the emergence of the digital version means no chance of ever having a space hulk style relaunch of the proper game.
Or, a clever ploy to determine if it is still popular enough to warrant a remake of the board game?
i would love to get this!!! i hope its not an apple only product! i cant afford to by gw minis and apple hardware!
Unfortunately it seems exclusive to both iPhone and iPad through the Apple Store. My hope is someone makes an emulator for this and get’s it onto PC 😉

Hmm. I would have taken the revamped boardgame version instead. Not really blown away by the trailer and the screenshots, but it’s nice to see the game still peaks interest. If the game app is priced right, I’ll get this for my iPhone when it’ll be released. Hope this will lead to other old GW titles making the appearance in mobile, like Space Hulk.
Having sunk over 20 hours in to Hunters 2 an a good bit into the first Hunters by Rodeo games I’m super excited. I never really played Warhammer Quest (couldn’t afford it as a kid) so looking forward to this version. Rodeo is an awesome developer and I have my iPhone standing ready. 🙂
I downloaded the Hunters 2 yesterday as it seemed to have good reviews and I’m a sucker for turn-based strategy on any platform. Spent most of the evening playing the game and I must say that expectations for Rodeo’s coming Warhammer Quest went through the roof. If the Warhammer Quest will be anything like Hunters 2 gameplay wise, we’ll have a really good turn-based dungeon crawler on our hands.
Gah! Why do GW love Apple so? I hope this makes it onto Android devices at some point.
The screenshots and trailers are not overly impressive, but I’d still like to play it, I’ve read so much about it from old fans. I hope there is a free or lite version to try out first; I’ve got a feeling that the game will end up being $6.99 or more, which would definitely keep me from buying based on what I’ve seen so far.
This is a problem with mobile games as they don’t seem all that flashy in trailers. But once you actually play them, you’re hooked. I share your feelings about the price because Hunters 2 is around 4€ and it’s an original IP, not licenced.
I think the appropriate word in this situation is SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
No gameplay footage, indistinct generic fantasy dungeon seens, pretentious voice over – with no warhammer feel – and only on the i-pad.
Looks like a complete steaming pile of ………
A shame as a lot of the recent games have been developed more faithfully to the feel of GW games that GW is now doing.
I just hope they won’t project sales figures of a game released only on iOS when they decide weather or not to reprint the boardgame.
