We got a nice dump of information this weekend on what's coming for Age Of Sigmar and the new game, Warcry, by Games Workshop. First up we're learning more about The Untamed Beasts, one of the additional Chaos warbands for the new skirmish game.

Warcry Untamed Beasts #1 - Games Workshop

The Untamed Beasts have been styled after the designs that you might have seen on Chaos Marauders of old. Whilst other warriors of Chaos wear heavy armour and carry rune-wrought swords these warriors rely on their strength alone to defeat their foes and the beasts of the wastes.

The warband does look rather cool and it's good to have such a dynamic looking set of warriors joining the fray. I really like the fellow on the right there with that bone spear at the ready and flowing fur cloak. It's nice to see that they're also continuing to add more female characters into the mix as servants of Chaos.

Whilst I am glad that Warcry is going to expand beyond Chaos warbands I really do like that this was their focal point. Yes, they were all Chaos worshippers but it was awesome seeing how inventive they could be with these wild warriors.

As well as the actual warriors themselves Games Workshop also showed off another of the beasts that is going to be hunting its own prey on the battlefield, the Rocktusk.

You can see where the imagery for The Untamed Beasts came from when you see this particular creature that has been turned into a weapon of war. I hope that as well as being creatures warbands can bring to heel they will also wander in at inopportune moments, ready to tear apart unsuspecting warriors.

I am, once again, excited to see what they do for Warcry and just how the mechanics are going to work. More skirmish games are always welcome. The future is looking good for those who want to experience the Mortal Realms without having to buy massive armies.

Forbidden Power & New Terrain

As well as this warband for Warcry we also got to see some of a new terrain range. The Dominion Of Sigmar is a new set of terrain which is designed to give you a look at what the realms look like when they have been touched by Sigmar's grace.

The range is akin to some of the other pieces Games Workshop have created for use in Warhammer 40,000, crafting urban environments and the like. So, if you want to have a fight that takes place within the realms that Sigmar has pledged to protect you could have a lot of fun.

If you missed these in with a range of other buildings you could create a fascinating looking tabletop. I also think that with a quick change to the paint scheme you could set this within all manner of different realms too.

Maybe you could even set up a full assault upon one of Sigmar's citadels? Perhaps the forces of Chaos have managed to burst through the magical defences and are now storming through the streets looking to pillage and burn in their name of their Dark Gods.

New Options

As well as this new terrain there will also be additional rules within Forbidden Power which allow you to bring renowned sell-swords into the mix for the different factions. This means, regardless of Grand Alliance, you'll find warriors joining the fight for the sake of riches and glory.

Celestant Vs Olynder

As a guide as to how insane things are going to be, we also got shared this piece of artwork showing off a cataclysmic duel between Lady Olynder and the Celestant-Prime. If this insane magical duel is going to be a big part of the ongoing story of Soul Wars then we're in for some realm shattering stuff in this book.

Are you tempted by Warcry or Forbidden Power?
